Keys Cake Bakery
Cupcakes and celebration cakes lovingly made from home in the southside of Glasgow.
Some recent fondant cakes. Wee bit of sea swimming, joinery, whisky drinking and some favourite things. Who knew making seaweed was such good fun?!
Have a good Sunday.

Some recent themed cupcakes. The law degree came in handy again. Forever thankful I don’t need to use that any more! 😂
I think the fire service ones were my favourite to make. Or maybe the tennis ones. I do enjoy making strawberries! 😂🍓🍓
I’m back at the Foodies Festival in Rouken Glen Park next weekend doing a wee demo of my flower cupcakes. If you fancy going, here’s a 30% off discount code (feel free to share that).
I’m on in the baking tent at 4pm on Friday and 4.30pm on Saturday. Come and say hello - cupcakes will be available to munch!

I was testing a new cake flavour at the weekend and decided to have a go at a Lambeth style cake. I quite enjoyed myself! I did need a ruler. 😂
Cake is sticky toffee cake with butterscotch buttercream and toffee sauce. 😋
I haven’t posted a floral cake in a while - here’s some I’ve done over the last couple of months. The cold summer has been ideal! Depressing but great for me. 😂
Have a lovely week.
Cupcake number boxes! I make the boxes (I have the hot glue burns to prove it! 😂) so can do any number. Just please don’t ask me for 88 as 8s are a pain in the 🍑!
The number of cupcakes which can fit varies from number to number but, on average, there are 15 to 18 in a two number combo.
Welcome to the Keys Cake Bakery spa. I had lots of fun with this one other than the gravity defying shelves but they bent to my will in the end!
I got inspiration for this cake from Pinterest. I don’t know who the original creator was but I took inspo from photos of cakes by The Custom Cakery and Shereen’s Cakes. 😍
What do highland coos, walking boots, New York taxis and equations have in common? I’ve put them on a cupcake! These are one of my favourite things to do - they very much keep me on my toes and I learn lots of new techniques. No two sets are ever the same.
Have a great week. P x
Anyone for tea? Afternoon tea themed cake and matching cupcakes.
Happy Sunday.

Sometimes I have no idea what I’m putting on a cake! Wild Kratts is new to me but the 7 year old birthday boy was thankfully very specific about what he wanted. The two humans are toys - I made everything else. I may make myself another hedgehog to keep. 🥰
Thank you to Gillian Susan for her technical pharmacy advice for the pharmacy graduation cake. Sometimes you need to call in the experts for help! 😂
Happy Sunday. Maybe the sun will come out. I made my own just in case (last pic).

Some of this week’s flowers. The bonus is you can eat them!
P x
Some recent fondant cakes for a plane spotter, a whisky lover and a new dad whose baby is interrupting his poker playing. I wanted to keep the baby! 😂
All handmade and edible (not the miniatures - they’re the real thing and supplied by my customer).
Have a lovely week. I’m at Pot Fest - not that kind of pot! Ceramics!
Mini cupcakes! I’ve been meaning to try these for ages and finally got around to it. Kind of loving them!
Hoping to offer them soon.
Cupcake flowers! A few new flowers today - wild rose, crab apple blossom, calendula, toadflax, feverfew and orlaya. I sound like Alan Titchmarsh.
Have a lovely Sunday.

Baby showers and birthdays of all ages have kept me busy over the last couple of weeks. Here’s some of the floral cakes - my favourite to make. But not when it’s sunny. Anxiety is high when the sun shines. I bought an air conditioning unit and it has ☔️☔️☔️ ever since. Sorry!
A favourite things cake for a 50th birthday. What could be better than some olives by the lake with Mr Darcy (BBC Pride and Prejudice obvs - the GOAT!), a good book and then clubbing at the Garage?! Oh, and a visit to Glasgow University Union (doors to which are on the back of the cake).
Thanks to my lovely customer for giving me the chance to put Colin Firth on a cake! 😍😍
Everything is handmade and edible.
Cupcakes galore!
I hope you all enjoyed the gorgeous sunshine that almost gave me a nervous breakdown. Googling air conditioning units….
Thank you to the lovely people who came to my cupcake decorating class yesterday and did so well in the less than ideal conditions for things made from butter. 😍
Have a lovely (hopefully cooler) week.
Back to work!
Have a lovely bank holiday weekend everyone. My boss says I’m not allowed tomorrow off. She’s a 🤬🤬🤬. (I’m talking about myself btw 😂).
I’ve been hanging out with these guys over the past two weeks rather than making cakes but, I’m back! Sad to leave South Africa behind but itching to get my hands on some icing. Never had post holiday excitement when I was a lawyer. 😂😂. Funny that!
I have lots of messages to answer and I will go through them first thing tomorrow. Thank you for your patience. There was wine to be tasted!
I’m having a couple of weeks off (back at the end of the month) but here are a couple of recent fondant cakes.
I have now made more Greggs’ sausage rolls from fondant than I have consumed real ones!
Have a lovely week everyone.

EDIT: BOTH CLASSES ARE NOW FULL
Beginner’s cupcake decorating class!
Learn how to make these four flower cupcakes (you can choose your colours) and then take them home to eat. What can be better than being able to eat the fruits of your own labour?! 😂 And you’ll have worked off the calories in advance by working so hard. 😜
I have two spaces left for classes running from 10am to 12.30pm on Saturday 11 May and Saturday 18 May. These are in person classes taking place in G43, Glasgow (Newlands).
If you would like to join just send me a message or email [email protected] for details.
Lots of floral cakes cakes recently - which is your favourite?
I think it’s the daffodils for me. Probably because I enjoy piping them!
I have a few beginners cupcake decorating classes coming up - more details to follow.
Happy Sunday!
The last bee has buzzed off 🐝🐝🐝. Happy Easter!
I LOVED Paddington when I was a child - the original one obvs as I, like Paddington, am vintage! I was so excited when asked to make Paddington themed cupcakes and had an absolute ball doing them.
I take no creative credit for the Paddington face and duffel coat - a lovely lady called Victoria Threader showed me how on Pinterest!
An eclectic mix of cupcakes today - daffodils, Barbie and a spaniel!
Easter is now fully booked. 🐝🐰🐣🐣
Easter cupcakes! Available week commencing 25 March with the last collection being on Easter Sunday (morning). Price list is in the last photo.
Thanks to and the Yellow Bee Club for the bunny face tutorial - a new friend for the bees, chicks and bunny bums this year.
To order please email [email protected]. Collection only from G43.
Happy Mother’s Day to all the mums, grannies, step-mums and mother figures. I hope you all have a lovely day.
Thank you to everyone who ordered cupcakes and sorry to those who missed out. I will be having a lie down with some Malteasers and maybe a wee gin. With my hand on ice!
Easter designs coming soon!
Covering all the big birthdays!
I’ve had a lot of messages about Easter cupcakes - the bees, bunnies and chicks will be back but I’m in full Mother’s Day mode this week so it will be next weekend/week before I can apply my mind fully to Easter. Have they always been this close together?! 😩
Have a lovely Sunday.
P xx
Some fondant cakes from the last few weeks - I’ve had a blast (and a few stressful moments 😂)! Lots of birthdays and a retirement from Greggs.
Happy 21st to my nephew Liam Keys, the recipient of the chemistry cake. 🎂🎂🎂
EDIT: class now full
I have one space left in my next beginner’s cupcake decorating class on Saturday 2 March 2024 at 9.30am. Send me a DM or email [email protected] if you would like to come.
