Brand New Office Setup.

One of our IT Clients (Shiona from BDS - Business Development and Support Ltd) contacted us looking for some help sorting out their IT in their new office from Outside In Garden Rooms We were more than happy to help and promptly got working on the project. This required figuring out the correct cable lengths for the desk to be at full height and both in normal height but still have everything completely operational. We also installed an Ajax alarm to make sure the office was kept safe and secure.

Brand New Handheld Scanners

Today we deployed two brand new Handheld scanners Glencrest Cash & Carry working alongside Dan from Tasklet Factory to deploy their Mobile WMS Software. These handheld scanners help Glencrest’s warehousing team efficiently manage stock and pick orders for their many clients across the country & the world.

Urgent PC Repair 🖥

This morning we were contacted by Glencrest Cash & Carry who asked us to carry out an urgent repair on one of their warehouse desktop pc’s which suffered a hard drive failure. Luckily we were able to pick up the pc the same day, get the parts required and repair it this evening for a quick turnaround meaning they will be back in action for Monday morning.

While we were there Glencrest asked for some help with some of there scanning devices. Always up for a challenge we were more than happy to help. We had some fun while we did it trying out the scanning features with some custom QR Codes we made.

A few days ago I upgraded my own workstation with some new parts and got it looking and running fresh once again,

Here at ScotSMART we are experts in custom built pcs

This pc was extremely high end when I first built it back in late 2018

With the specification of an

Intel core I9-9900k Processor
Nvidia RTX 2080 (Soon to be 3080)
16GB of DDR4 Ram
Crucial 1TB m.2 SSD
Samsung 500gb Sata ssd

Originally the system was water cooled however today the original water cooling was swapped out for some new air cooling with noctua fans and coolers and the case swapped out to a be quiet dark base pro 700 with the new air cooling system we have noticed significant performance gains due to the greater air flow going to the GPU meaning the system stays almost silent while running under full load.

In short this is one beast of a machine

Intruder Alarm Upgrade 🚨

Brand new wireless alarm installed for my own grandpa replacing his old 1980s optima XL4.

I am extremely proud today that my grandpa has put his trust in me to install a brand new alarm system for him after the alarm that I can always remember being there since I was a young boy no longer fulfilled his needs, we replaced his old alarm with a fully wireless alarm only having a few issues along the way (dud bell box module).
