I've had a productive day playing with colour! I enjoy this print more not being solid black.

I finally got around to carving my Great Dane design and did this test print today, but I'm really not loving it.
Lines are too chunky and overall just looks too busy. Might be better without the solid black background.

Nudity alert!
Tonight I went to the first life drawing session since the last time when I was in art school... so at least 7 years?
I had a lot of fun. I felt rusty but I will return and get back in to my flow 😁
Each drawing was a 15 min time limit.

I really like this outcome. A bit of tidying up and it could be the one 🤞🦚

This was a lot of fun.
I rolled the glue on to my carved lino like I would with ink and then, after pressing on my paper, applied the paper directly to the gold leaf, brushing away the parts which didn't stick to reveal the design.

Didn't come out neat like I'd hoped but it was a worthwhile experiment 💪🦚

Gold leaf is so fragile and difficult to use 😭
I think that's enough for one weekend 😅

4. Hand pressed Lokta paper.

The idea is to make this print in prussian blue and the parts scribbled in red will be adorned with gold leaf.

Second image provided as an example of the scheme I have in mind.

I think this will be fun to carve with all it's little lines.
