It’s been a bit of an install traditional leaded glass door week . A lovely commission panel of pink blossom in the West End , a reproduction panel over Southside & a restoration panel in Bridge of Weir Countryside .

Reproduction Leaded Glass Door installed in Drumbeck,Glasgow today . New beading on both sides of door . Matched glass as best as possible to original surround .

Joiners have installed my encapsulated glass in door , stair window & copula skylight that I made over last week or two so I went to look today . Not my usual colour scheme but that was the remit ……. I notice one panel has been installed upside down so that will need to be fixed 🙃😳

Back at St Conans Kirk at Loch Awe removing the Penitent Sinner Window prior to restoration (so into storage) & boarding up exterior & interior .

I was very surprised to see my glass in ‘the big mansion’ on the new Rebus series on bbc 😀 as it’s set in Edinburgh . The house is full of other original lovely glass but I havnt spotted any more yet .

Restoration / Reproduction install over the last couple of days on Millport . A church conversion where these 1.5m X 5m window sets get changed over to new leadwork with panes changed to clear glass . First set installed with another 5 to follow in the coming weeks . New Hoppers & bars made with brass & shotblasted & powdercoated .

Door Restoration West End this week installed back into door - new lead , replacement of panes , new bars & copper ties

My encapsulated stained and leaded glass installed into sash frames last week . I made two of the violet rondel windows in 2016 so finally out of storage 😂 . All others including stained glass reproduction quarry windows made this year

A blast from the past ….. we were commissioned to make these two replica windows 10+ years ago as the church congregation was moving to a nearby church . It was a bit unusual but there is two identical windows in the church 200 yards down the road from these 😂. The purple/pink glass was specially made by back when they produced their sheet glass

This is a window I made a year ago & until now didnt really have a good picture of . It’s an encapsulated panel over 2 metres long in the style of Picasso …. Using traditional techniques with some painting and silver & copper staining , powder fusing & etching .

Start of our next big project on the Isle of Cumbrae today …… removal of panels for templates & survey . We have six sets of windows like this to do & completely renew the lead & change glass on all & include 2 opening hoppers on each central window .

Fully Restored this big window 10-15 years ago & changed the oval central panel to a painted figure …… beautifully painted by Brian Waugh . Back looking at repairs today on other glass internally but nice to see it again & also some big windows in porch I restored & sash windows i encapsulated.

Silver Stain Application & large kiln load . Takes minutes to apply stain but hours to remove & clean the excess ….. experiments to get correct tone & know which stain takes to each tone (especially the green glass!) Hopefully turn out like my sample 🤞

Internal Skylight / Deadlight installed today ….. difficult to get a good photo , difficult to lift the hardwood frame / leaded glass / encapsulated unit up into place !

Install this week in Skermorlie of reproduction x3 panels into stone after removal of horrendous wooden frames. Difficult fit with fragile exterior stonework but stunning windows when all in place
