Yay! Marina @fancifuldevices is a genius as we all know and she inspire a remodel on my resin slab tin bezel necklace focals with added scalloped edge. I. Marina’s videos, she does it by hand meticulously but I cheated. Yeah I’m a cheat. I used scalloped edged fabric scissors instead which work really well on vintage tin and gave it this cool look. But….cheating doesn’t always pay because look how the resin has creeped sinisterly past my acrylic sealant on this beautiful vintage matchbox art of a butterfly! So I’ll need to figure that bit out….

Experiments in microwave kiln ceramic bisque firing.
So I took the plunge and invested (quite lightly) in a microwave kiln so I can more easily make my own ceramic clay beads. And so far experiments in bisque firing are going well. I’ve just had one flat back cabochon explode and I seemed to have worked out the optimal microwave time straight off. It’s scary and exciting! And it gets HOT! 🥵 🌡️♨️
Next stop - glazing. Yikes!
