Happy National Engineering Day from Iconic Engineering!

Today we are celebrating National Engineering Day, a day dedicated to showcasing engineering’s role in shaping the world and inspiring a new generation of talent.

This year’s theme is ‘engineering role models’, which is very much in keeping with Iconic Engineering's values, reflecting our commitment to inspiring the next generation and teaching them about engineering.

And is the perfect time to introduce our new apprentice, Mati, who joined the team last week

Jamie has been busy today meeting the CEO of Romi, who came to visit our workshop, and see how the new machine is doing.

It's back to business as usual this week, now the half-term is over and the work experience students have all finished.

Continuing with our theme of supporting students into a career in manufacturing and engineering, we are hosting various students this week, here at Iconic.

So far this week, Jasper and and Yasmine have been with us. Jasper has been working with newly-qualified apprentice Sam on the lathe, and Yasmine our returning T-level student, has been learning some laser-engraving skills with Jamie.

Training on the new Romi GL250S Commences today, so Jamie has had to take a break from riding the Ducati Panigale V4S that he has on loan.

Bit of batch turning this morning while I was busy doing some design work. The Romi GL250s ticking along nicely. Think I have to figure out the tool monitoring though… ouch.
