Bee orchids
Jeskyns has a very small population of orchids which are very difficult to find, today we are having a brief look at bee orchids. This will be my first Wildlife Wednesday (Thursday) since I have come back, while doing a site patrol around Jeskyns and refamiliarising myself with the site, I found this calling great tit! Ranger Richard

I have always found Broomrape to be a fascinating plant. It almost looks like something you would find on an alien planet in star wars! At Jeskyns we have two species of Broomrape which I know about the common or clover broomrape which is the star of the video and greater broomrape which is more brown and taller. In other news I am in the process of updating the wildlife board so if you have any sightings from the last week you want to add just let me know.

Hi Guys, I recorded this chiffchaff not long ago singing from the orchard side of the community woodland. They are a fairly common warbler which you almost certainly would of heard while walking around. Ranger Richard

Bullfinch alarm call
Hi Everybody! I know I go on about bullfinch quite a lot. but as I was doing my bi-weekly survey I was lucky enough to catch these two bullfinches doing an alarm call. There are also two robins calling in the background. This is what I listen out for on my walks. for reference i have also attached a picture of a male and female bullfinch in the comments :) Good luck and happy searching! Ranger Richard
