The school fund here at Polesden Lacey is used to provide many wonderful learning opportunities and experiences to all of our children. Today, every class will take part in a “Perform” workshop to enhance an area of their class learning.

Squirrel class are currently taking part in their workshop focusing on the rainforest. This will help support their leaning in topic lessons.

Badger class enjoyed their “Perform” workshop this morning, all about fairytales. These fantastic active workshops help to support the children in their writing of traditional tales in English as well as being a lot of fun!

The Grandparents’ Tea Party yesterday, was a huge success. Thank you to all of those who supported in making this event possible.

Thank you to The Friends of Polesden Lacey Infant School who helped out on the day and who worked so hard to collect donations for the raffle prizes.

There were donations from so many local supporters including Ada's , Laytons greengrocers, Greenwise Shop Fetcham, Becky Fitzgerald form Tropic skincare, The Vineries Garden Centre, Tesco, The Grange Centre, Amelia's Bakehouse.

As an Eco school we were so pleased that so many of our donations were Eco friendly and supported Fairtrade International.

The children sang some beautiful spring songs and there were a few tears from some of the proud Grandparents in the audience. Definitely an event to be repeated next year!

Today we were treated to a day of sporting inspiration delivered by GB athlete Aidan Syers. All of the classes took part in two workshops focusing on different areas of sport and fitness and introducing the concept of healthy competition. Aidan commented on how fantastic his day was getting to spend time with our children. He also mentioned that one of the questions posed to him by a member of Squirrel class was the “best question I’ve ever been asked by a six year old!” The confidence and resilience shown by our children was outstanding and I’m sure today has inspired some budding sports stars of the future! Well done Polesden Lacey!
