The Future of Events – Funded Places Available
The Centre for Culture, Sport and Events (CCSE) is pleased to announce that it’s successful CPD course The Future of Events will be running again in early 2024.
Initially designed in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, the course explores the impact of current global challenges such as the pandemic, Brexit and cost-of-living crisis on the event industry, examining how events can be reimagined and redefined in a world where the use of digital technology is rapidly accelerating. Built around four key areas, the course:
1) Examines the impact of external environmental challenges on the events industry and considers how events can reimagine their offering to ensure short-term survival and long-term sustainability.
2) Considers the wider policy perspectives and operational challenges of delivering events in a vastly changed environment, exploring how the events industry can redevelop in a positive and sustainable way.
3) Explores the potential applications of digital technology for the events industry, examining the various ways in which transformational technology can be used to support and enhance the event experience.
4) Contemplates the future of events and how event professionals and organisations can utilise digital technology to ensure their longevity in an ever-changing environment.
Taught by staff from the CCSE, participants will learn from a range of experts in both events and digital/transformational technology, ensuring that they develop academic knowledge and practical skills that can be implemented in their respective workplaces. The course is delivered online via a combination of self-paced study and live sessions, commencing on Monday 5th February 2024.
We are delighted that we have a number of FULLY FUNDED places available to anyone living and/or working in Scotland via the UWS Upskilling Fund. We anticipate that these places will fill up quickly, for further information and to apply please visit
