Do you listen to my podcast ‘onepodlife’? If so, firstly thank you, secondly could you complete this Q&A for me https://forms.gle/tWvs8Y4pcRUprjgPA
It was great to spend some time with the guys last week. Nice to learn more about the brand and the plans for the future 🧢
even got a schooling on putting during the first ever OPL Clinic haha 😂
Yesterday I played in my second tournament at
The good news is that I didn’t finish last this time 😃 and I made some great progress on how I play in tournaments. Obviously I’m not 100% comfortable but the more of these I play, the better I’m going to get!!!
The course was great but those greens were fast and tricky 😱⛳️ I lost a lot of shots on them (40 putts in total).
Big thanks to for coming along and being my Caddie. A great help and definitely made me feel at ease with his “Danter”, even if he was on a mission to loose all my head covers 😂
On to the next one…
📸
🎶 Touching you, touching me
Working with has been an education on how my body should be moving (I frustrate him when my body won’t do it) and I love his hands on approach. It’s all about creating feels and getting that club into the right delivery position for the shot.
This journey I’m on is long and it’s not easy, but we’re a lot further down it then we were a year ago 🙌🏽
Absolutely loving the stats you get on about your strokes gained, really highlighting the parts of my game that some work.
Things I’ve learnt so far:
1. Although I’m now hitting my driver further and straighter (well, straighter than I’ve ever been), I’m still losing shots by missing the fairway in the wrong places.
2. From around 100-140 yards, I’m useless haha 😂 losing on average 2 shots to a scratch golfer. My main focus for the foreseeable future is in my wedges to ensure I can take advantage and hit more greens.
3. My short game and putting is out of this world 🌎😜 saves me so much but also puts a lot of pressure on that area of my game. Work on number 2 more and it won’t be as important.
❓Who else uses Arccos and what stats do you mostly focus on to improve?
STARTED, SO I’LL FINISH - I recently watched “The Playbook” on Netflix, where they talk about their rules for life and one stood out from Doc Rivers; “Finish the Race”.
Hole 18 expresses this rule to a key! I don’t know when to stop, or give up, I’ll keep going until I physical can’t. So I’m not stopping here with my quest, I’m finishing this race.
DON’T BE A VICTIM - After my round on Friday, it would’ve been very easy to look for the negatives and dwell on the things I did wrong. Instead, I flipped it and I’ve focused on the things I did right.
Things happen and if you want to succeed in something, you are going to fail a few times to move forward. This was one of mine and I learnt a lot about my game and more importantly, myself!!!
#429 DAYS - Well, what a week…I’ve got my first Amateur tournament under my belt and it’s given me even more hunger to achieve my pursuit of playing professional golf.
Those of you who have seen my score from Friday would probably think I’m mad, but you have to start somewhere and here it is!!!
I LOVE GOLF…at the moment haha 😂
Over the last few weeks, I’ve really put the work in and it’s showing on and off the course. Off the course, I’ve managed to shed a kgs which has led to better golf on the course. Hard work really does pay off.
KINGSBARNS PART 3 • HOLES 13-18 - And here is Part 3 of my round at Kingsbarns. I’m currently 2.5 over through 12 holes, those last couple holes really brought the score down ⬇️⬇️
What do you think I’m going to finish on? FYI The last 3 holes were a struggle 😳 spoiler alert 🚨 below
————————————
Total = 75.8 (+3.8)
————————————
Hope you enjoyed this mini series, I might bring you some more in the future, yes/no?
HAPPY PLACE - Can’t get over how nice the weather was at the weekend, prefect for some short game training.
Did you manage to take advantage of it too?
👕 | Chest Stripe Polo - Blue Marl
MOVING FORWARD - I had my best ever driving display on Friday, finding the fairway way more often then I normally do and I was averaging around 260-270 yards off the tee! Some of the hard work off the course is paying off.
Big thanks to for the fitting of my new driver, SIM2 Max D in a Tensei AV Series 60g Flex-X shaft
UNTIL IT'S DONE - I believe I can do this, so I am going to do this!!! 465 more chances to improve, 465 more chances to work hard, 465 more chances learn.
#465
MAKE IT HAPPEN - As my coach reminds me every time I see him, you only get once chance to do this, make sure you make it happen and put the work in.
No one is else is going to do it for you!!!
#465 - the last week and half have been very focused on the drills given to me by my coach, not really hitting balls and doing everything in slow motion.
It's working, as I am moving in a better way and finding the right movements needed to go to the next level.
“What does a good shot look like?”
I’ve heard some top coaches recently talk about recording your best 3 shots after every round, so that’s what I’m going to do!
Got myself a little notebook and I’ll be making sure to create a book of positive thoughts that I can fall back on before, during and after each round.
It’s the last week of Golf Fitness School 2.0 with
BIG push needed to complete all of my sessions (6 more to go!)
The team have all done really well and they definitely helped me get my arse into the gym this morning 🙌🏽
Looking forward to our last call next week and a celebratory drink with
Had a great couple of days at with and for a little meet up!!!
Started the 2 rounds with a 6 hole par run and I was 3 over through 9! That’s where the good golf ended 😂 I’m kidding, there was some good golf but the conditions were hard, wind, rain, hail and plugged balls everywhere.
🎙ONEPODLIFE - ZANE SCOTLAND 🎧
What does it take to become a professional golfer through the lens of a Pro and a Coach. That’s exactly what we discussed when I sat down with
We talk about his career to date, the lessons he’s learnt and how he is now sharing that wisdom with golfers through his academy
Not many coaches can say they’ve been there and done it, but he can.
Zane gives he take on what traits are frequent within players that make it to the highest level, the theory of “train don’t practice” and how playing with better golfers should be top of your priority list over coaching and equipment.

Ever taken your golf clubs on the train? Get any weird looks like I did haha 😂
Range ➡️ Course
I’m slowly taking my range work to the course and seeing some great results but it’s far too easy to slip back into some old habits 🤦🏽 just got to grind them out over and over 🔄
Do you find it hard to transfer from range to course?
