At last the sun is here, but how does this affect Eczema? ☀️ Humidity leads to the production of sweat, which is enough to keep the skin lubricated externally. So, if you drink enough water throughout the day, your body’s moisture content will be retained. However, if your eczema symptoms do flare-up due to humidity, it is possibly because of the blocked sweat glands. To avoid that from happening, you should undergo frequent exfoliation. It can ensure that your skin cools faster, and you sweat moderately. Exposure to the harsh sun has a deteriorating impact on all of us. However, in some people with eczema, it can lead to inflammation and flare-ups. The sun is a good source of vitamin-D, and getting a daily dose of vitamin D is necessary to help repair your skin cells, allowing them to heal faster. For people who have invested in an eczema-safe moisturizing sunscreen, moderate sunlight is the best climate condition for this skin disorder. #eczema #humidity #sunscreen #exfoliation #drinkingwater #eczemasafesunscreen #healthyskin #lookinggood #summer

What is Oilatum cream used for? Moisturising dry, itchy and scaly skin conditions, such as eczema and dermatitis. How does Oilatum cream work? Your skin feels dry, itchy and scaly when the outer layer of skin cells, known as the stratum corneum, loses too much water. The stratum corneum normally contains natural water-holding substances that retain water seeping up from the deeper layers of the skin. Water is also usually kept in the skin by a film of natural oil (sebum) and broken-down skin cells that slow down evaporation of water from the skin surface. The skin dries out when too much water evaporates from its surface. This increases as we get older, and is made worse by washing, because hot water and soap remove the layer of natural oil on the skin surface. People who suffer from eczema also appear to have less natural oils in their skin. Oilatum cream contains light liquid paraffin and white soft paraffin. When you apply the cream these oils stay on the surface of the skin to prevent water evaporating from the skin surface. #eczema #oilatum #dryskin #moisturiser #itchyskin

😃7 Tips for Psoriasis Skin Care😃 1. Keeping your skin moisturised is one of the most effective yet easiest things you can do for irritated skin. It can help your skin heal and reduce dryness, itching, redness, soreness, and scaling. 2. A daily warm bath using a mild soap can help soothe itchy spots and remove dry skin. Try not to rub your skin with the towel as you dry off. Gently pat dry instead. The rubbing action can make sores worse and even cause new ones. If you don't have time for a bath, you can still put a wet towel or cold compress on the trouble spot. 3. Sunlight can slow the growth of skin cells, so small doses of sun can be a good way to soothe, improve, and even heal psoriasis lesions. Even indoor light can make a difference. Try to get some sun two or three times a week, and use sunscreen on your healthy skin. 4. Studies show that stress can make psoriasis and itching worse. Some people even trace their first outbreak to a very stressful event. You might be able to calm symptoms simply by lowering your anxiety. There are many ways to lower stress. Yoga, meditation, and deep breathing help. Even a long walk around the neighbourhood might calm you. Other ways to bust stress: Eat healthy. Drink plenty of water. Exercise regularly. Get plenty of sleep. 5. Avoid harsh products like lotions with alcohol, deodorant soaps, acids (glycolic, salicylic, and lactic acid), and even some laundry soaps. These can inflame your sensitive skin. Make sure they are soft and comfortable. Avoid wool and mohair. They can irritate already inflamed skin. 6. There's no doubt about it: When you itch, you want to scratch. But scratching can tear open your skin, making way for infection-causing germs. It may also make sores appear where there weren't any before. Keep your nails short, and take an antihistamine if you are itchy. And picking at your skin can lead to infection. When you have an urge, close your eyes, breathe deeply, and gently rub on moisturizer instead. 7.

We often think about how the sun can damage skin, but for some the sun can actually be a kind of medicine. For instance, for psoriasis and eczema sufferers, UV light can help the healing process along. But even for those who don't have specific skin issues, taking in a few UV rays may give you a healthy glow. Research shows that sunshine can lower blood pressure and improve heart health and the more you nourish your body, the better it will look! Great skin may have a massive impact on your outward appearance, but it starts from within. Moderate sun exposure is associated with all kinds of health benefits. As long as you're smart about how (and when) you catch some rays, you can safely look forward to whatever tomorrow's sunrise brings your way. Soaking up some rays can brighten your day. This is because exposure to sunlight triggers a boost in serotonin, one of your brain's "feel-good" chemicals. Low serotonin levels are thought to play a key role in depression, especially the kind that tends to hit during winter, when sunlight is scarce. On top of that, research shows that people who spend more time outside have higher levels of this "happy" neurotransmitter. So, if you're feeling blue, head outside to maximize the relationship between sun and serotonin! It's not uncommon to have low vitamin D levels; many people do. But that can be a problem, considering vitamin D is a key component in keeping bones healthy and strong thanks to its role in absorbing calcium and phosphorus. What's more, the nutrient may also be involved in maintaining a healthy immune system and proper muscle function — two factors that should be pretty important to anyone with an active lifestyle. Conveniently, one reason sunshine is so helpful is its ability to initiate a reaction within the body that triggers vitamin D production. Luckily, serotonin is involved in the production of another hormone that influences our sleep: melatonin. When serotonin levels in our bodies are just right, there

Often overlooked, eczema can be a major cause of depression, disrupt our sleep, and generally have an adverse effect on our work and the way we live our lives on a day-to-day basis. So what is eczema? The skin is made up of three layers: the epidermis (top layer), dermis (middle layer) and subcutaneous layer (bottom layer). Normally the skin cells in the upper (epidermal) layer are tightly packed so they help create a barrier. With eczema, the layers do not provide the normal barrier function. This can lead to exposure to the elements and so produce inflammation. Inflamed skin can be very itchy and prolonged rubbing and scratching leads to thickening of the epidermis making the skin appear thick and leathery. Sometimes inflamed skin can become infected especially the areas of skin that have more folds and creases. The words eczema and dermatitis are interchangeable and mean the same thing. Atopic eczema (or atopic dermatitis) is the most common form of eczema. Atopic describes sensitivity to allergens. There is unfortunately no cure for eczema. It is a matter of avoiding allergens and preventing the skin from becoming dry by using medical moisturisers. Different people react to different allergens so should find out what you are allergic to and try and avoid it. What can make eczema flare up? Eczema may be aggravated by: 🧡Changes or extremes in temperature 🧡Sweat, soap, detergents, shower gels, bubble baths and water may all irritate the skin 🧡Stress 🧡Bacterial or viral infections 🧡Anything you may be allergic to such as food, the material your underwear is made from or any other substances your skin may be in contact with, such as latex. 🧡Friction from tight clothing.
