Have you ever considered the cons of going on another diet?
Have you ever considered dieting might not be what you actually want for yourself?
Have you ever considered that actually, the body you currently live in is perfectly okay as it is (YES even with body fat stretch marks wrinkles cellulite and whatever else we’re taught is wrong!)
I am not “anti” dieting, I have clients who are dieting
It’s just so important to bring awareness to the why behind our actions and make sure they are FOR us.
If you feel stuck in this cycle and would rather work on improving your body image and relationship with food than diet this year , drop me a message and let’s chat about what’s going on for you and how I can help 📲☺️
If a child gets a math equation wrong what would be a more appropriate response:
A. You stupid fu***ng idiot! Why don’t you get anything right?! You should know this by now! There’s no point even bothering again coz you’ll just get it wrong AGAIN!
B. It’s okay to get things wrong. We all make mistakes and we can learn from them. If we never made a mistake we’d never learn. Let’s play outside for 5 minutes and then return to the problem and see what we can do differently next time.
Which option would motivate the child to try again?
Which option would leave the child feeling more empowered?
Obviously B, and yet so many of you talk to yourselves like option A.
Notice how you speak to yourself this week and what could be a kinder more compassionate approach.
Notice how you feel when you speak to yourself as A or B.
6 days until we start hiking the biggest mountain in North Africa 🥾 Mount Toubkal 📍
Between getting caught in a fraud scandal and painful foot and hip injuries I’m feeling a liiiiiiittle apprehensive honestly! The idea of sharing a bed with 20 other people in a mountain hut hasn’t even crossed my mind 👀
But it’s also going to be one of the most epic adventures I’ve ever done! I can’t wait to just get there and do it And I’m so glad I’m dragging along for the ride🤣
We’re helping raise money for the amazing mental health charity , if you have a few pennies spare everything adds up and is so so appreciated. Link to donate is in my bio x
Eeeeeeeek we’re nearly there!! 🙌🏼 🥾
There’s a fine line between sticking with something to reap the rewards of tedious consistency and mixing things up to keep it interesting to stay engaged.
If you lack fun, enjoyment, excitement and purpose about what you’re doing you are really going to struggle to keep consistent or motivated, to show up when it gets hard, to be patient when things aren’t going to plan or knocking out a PB every week or the weeks it does feel boring.
What’s driving you to succeed?
What goal do you have that feels inspiring to you?
If you’re not sure, that’s okay. That’s what coaches can help you with and formulate a plan and a get the buzz back into your training 🐝
Message me the word “COACH” if this sounds like something you need help with 😃
You don’t realise how mentally draining it is to be endlessly dieting and worrying about food until you are out of that head space
“Just one more diet and THEN I’ll work on it” is exactly what will keep you stuck in this pattern.
Work on your relationship with food, body image and yourself first THEN, if you want to, look at dieting when you feel in a much better place.
A diet that that won’t feel miserable and restrictive and endless and soul sucking. (Yes that exists)
Message me “TOOLKIT” to take your first steps to understanding more and moving away from chronic yo-yo dieting 🧰
It’s important to spend time getting to understand your thoughts, feelings and beliefs and challenging them and building a more positive body image and self talk
But it’s also important to spend time thinking about alllllll the other incredible things going on in life. Thinking LESS about how you look and what others might think about you, less staring in the mirror, less body & diet chat and more just doing what you want for yourself for fun!
It can be exhausting living up on your own head all of the time, so make it a fun place to be too 🙌🏼🫶🏼
I CANNOT believe nobody thought of this sooner (cheers to the lads in Facebook comments)
But all you need to do to lose weight is just eat less and … wait for it… move more 💡🙌🏼
Turns out it was nothing to do with human behaviours, thoughts, feelings, beliefs, genes, hormones, mental health, societal pressures, illness, socio-economics, food quality/ accessibility or ANY thing else! Brilliant!
Now the world’s obesity epidemic shall be cured!! HURRAH!
Great job everyone 👏🏼 we made it 🫡
You know you don’t have an eating disorder, but you know something isn’t right…
I knew this about my own eating for a long time and when I eventually discovered ‘disordered eating’ I still put my behaviours down to being dedicated and committed to health and fitness.
Disordered eating can have a massive physical and mental impact, short and long term. We are now seeing so many women later on in life with osteoporosis having dieted and had unhealthy eating habits throughout their lives.
Losing your period isn’t a ‘blessing’. It’s not good at all.
Being mentally consumed with food thoughts and worries and body image struggles is not ‘commitment’ to your health.
It took me a very long time to accept what I was doing needed to change. The thought of letting go of dieting and rigid food control terrified me. But learning and understanding more about it, seeing people who had come out the other side, knowing that there is a better way to live and the tools to get me there have DRAMATICALLY changed my life. And probably the trajectory of it.
If you aren’t sure if this is you, or don’t know what to do next message me “DE” and have a friendly chat about what your next steps could look like to get help 🫶🏼
Strength up, body fat down, habits being set, learning to lift, this client is well on her way to smashing a big summer goal 🙌🏼 🌞 ⛰️
This week at The Ranch 🌳 New PBs, new skills, new gym goers, new connections 🙌🏼
If you want to take your strength and fitness to the next level and don’t know where to start, message me the word “TRIAL” for a free week with us ☺️
Set an alarm on your phone and give yourself 5 minutes multiple times throughout the day that are for you.
Check in with yourself, connect with what you want or need and how you’re feeling, then honour it.
It can be really simple things like walking away from the desk for a few minutes, eating your favourite snack, drinking water, messaging someone you love, or even a super quick moment of gratitude!
These pockets of you time will add up and all help reduce the desire to overeat (or doom scroll) when you finally sit down at 8pm wiped out from giving all day.
Fill your cup in the day ☕️
Let me know how you get on this week ☺️
Trampolines in the street is my new favourite thing 🤩
What else would you add?
The floor is…
Relentless efforts not to overeat at the hotel buffet
Endless bargaining with myself over how much exercise I’d do when I’m back to allow for the food I’m eating
Worrying I won’t find anything “appropriate” to eat when out for lunch or dinner
Feeling super guilty getting home and needing to walk run train do anything to “undo” the holiday
It was bloody exhausting. And all it did was lead to more overeating and more over training and cycle back round.
You don’t even realise how much of your time and energy is taken up with this s**t until you look back and realise so many of your memories are clouded with these worries and how free your mind feels now.
Some things I did to get me to this place:
🌟 Therapy. Exercise is not therapy. It can feel therapeutic, it is not therapy.
🍔 Stop over restricting on calories or restricting certain foods. Allowing more of what you want will help reduce the overeating and food guilt that follows
❤️ Detach how you look from your self worth. Knowing my worth beyond what I weigh and body fat % was huge in allowing myself to just be, live, eat, train for me how I wanted. Not to endlessly control my size.
This is really tough when we live in a society that glorifies being slim and demonises body fat, but learning and understanding all that was huge in shifting my belief from “something is wrong with me” to “something is wrong with societal beliefs ”
🪞 Acceptance that your body can and will change. We aren’t supposed to look the same all year every year forever. Find gratitude for it for all it does!
☮️ Your body your diet your holidays your life are yours to choose exactly what you want to do with them
Making choices that align with your values FOR YOU is ultimately what will bring you the most peace ✌🏼
I’m not always a fan of the fitness industry and the pressures that can come with it. I’ve considered walking away so many times.
I saw a question last week that said “What do you believe the world needs more of?”
And my answer was “more women in power” 💯
(And more biscoff inspired snacks)
I realised lifting weights, going to the gym, climbing mountains, dangling off big rocks and punching bags is so much more than just fitness, to me anyway.
When I see women do these things, push their comfort zones, learn new skills, build confidence in themselves it is proof to me that they are stepping into their power.
Clients going for promotions, speaking up for themselves, applying for the job, showing themselves compassion and recognising their worth … these things are what drive me
And why the Fitness industry is stuck with me for a bit longer.
Surrounded by some of the absolute best of them 🙌🏼
What do you believe the world needs more of?

There are a lot of things to be angry about… but the scales not moving for a week isn’t one of them ✌🏼
and I are teaming up with .over.matter.uk to climb the highest mountain in North Africa, Mount Toubkal ⛰️ 🇲🇦
We would absolutely love to help them hit the £5000 target and raise as much money as we can to support who do incredible work for supporting mental health 💙
If you can spare any pennies literally everything adds up and is really appreciated ☺️
Link to donate is in the comments 🙏🏼
Amazing adventure day out today! Abseiling with 🧗🏻♀️
When you have this supportive bunch and some football hooligan chants, anything is possible 🫶🏼😆
Well done gang everyone absolutely smashed it 👏🏼
Save this and come back to it every time you see the scales jump up ⚖️
If the scales suddenly jump up it won’t be body fat.
Stay calm. Check your list. Take photos if you want to be extra sure 📷
A healthy relationship with food and positive body image is something that requires intentional work, just like any other skill we don’t wake up one day and have it nailed.
I urge you to really consider going on another summer shreds if you still live by rigid food rules, food guilt, overeating / restricting cycles and have a negative relationship with the scales or mirror.
You will actually lose weight and keep it off far more successfully once these things have improved 🫶🏼
DM the word “coaching” if you’d like a chat 💬
Neuroscientists define “awe” as “the emotion we feel in response to something vast that defies our existing frame of reference and leads us to change our perception of that frame of reference”
It’s how we respond when we see something new or novel that doesn’t fit with our current understanding of the world
Awe is a feeling of being small and humbled as we see ourselves as a part of something much bigger
This lessens selfish tendencies like arrogance, entitlement, narcissism and helps us connect to others better.
For me, the easiest and best way to feel in awe is to get outside or up a mountain 🏔️ 🤩
It gets you out of your own head and can appreciate something just as it is.
Countless studies confirm all the positive mental and physical health benefits of spending more time in nature, so if you are not sure where to start on moving your health… start with the outdoors 🌳 🥾
Eating an Easter egg will impact your health and fitness by approximately a smidge below f**k all
Eating an Easter egg and following it up with binge eating, food guilt, negative self talk, “throwing in the towel” and spending the rest of the week or month over eating and drinking will have a little more impact … more so mental than physical!
When I realised what was keeping me stuck in these cycles was my own thoughts and nothing to do with what I actually ate and drank my mind was blown
Try to pay a little more attention to the stories you tell yourself and little less attention to the calories in your every meal 🐣
Satisfaction is SO important when it comes to enjoying food, preventing overeating and eating a sustainable diet 🥦 🍩
You can increase food satisfaction by:
- Eating a variety of different foods
- Adding more textures to meals, crunchy, chewy etc
- Adding different flavours to your food with herbs spices condiments
- Slowing down when you eat and paying attention to the food
- Eating food you actually enjoy! There is no need to cut out all your favourite foods ever
- Eat enough! You might not be feeling hungry at the end but have you had enough to satisfy?
- Make your environment enjoyable , comfy seats, relaxed, music, candles, company, good vibes
Learning to eat when hungry and stop when full is so important, but it’s just as important to remember our satisfaction too!
A massively overlooked aspect of improving your health, wellbeing, body image and relationship with food is doing more of the things you enjoy!
For no other purpose than it bringing you joy.
Not to burn calories, not to build muscle, not to get steps in, not to look good, not to boost your career, not to impress others, not for any other purpose than you just fu***ng like doing it!
Paint to paint. Run to run. Write to write. Whatever it is, do it and do it often.
When you’re too busy having fun you have less brain space for worry
And when you’re having fun and enjoying life you are FAR more likely to engage in behaviours that promote good health.
What can you make time for more of this week to feel good?? Let me know in the comments 👇🏼☺️
