What a lovely evening last Friday was, with our annual Christmas π get together. It was great to catch up and natter, laugh and also a bit of leg pulling π. A few drinks at The Orange Tree Hereford followed by a lovely meal at Burger Shop . A short presentation of awards and novelty prizes followed, with club member of the year being awarded to a well deserved winner Stephen Rivers
βMost Milesβ went to Ray Mobbs (second year running) but was closely followed by Jake Underhill who was awarded βmost improved riderβ. Paula was given a prize for βmost elevationβ climbing nearly twice the amount of any other rider!
A couple of novelty prizes went to Louise (most punctures) and Dan (dirtiest bike).
Many thanks to Velo seventeen and Coombes Cycles for the prizes and NailedUp Metal Art for the trophies.
Another great year for our little club and hereβs looking forward to next year, and thank you to all our members and others who have supported us. Keep cycling and stay safe.
Merry Christmas and. Happy New Year π₯³ π΄ββοΈ

Todays Sunday Social doing the classic Pengenffordd route. We were blessed with a tail wind home which ended with a spritely finish on the Sarnsfield/Yazor road back in (inevitable on that road). It always seems to be someoneβs birthday and this week was no exception with Teddy buying the beers at The Wobbly Brewery at the end of a lovely ride. Thanks to The Honey Cafe for accommodating us with great coffee cakes and bacon/sausage/egg baps! π

And weβre up and runningβ¦
Halo Leisure is delighted to announce it has been awarded Β£220,000 of funding from the Community Ownership Fund (COF) towards a full upgrade, renovation and ongoing maintenance of the Hereford Athletics Track based at Hereford Leisure Centre.
The fund is part of the UK Governmentβs levelling up agenda and brings the total raised so far to Β£327,000 meaning we are well on our way and confident of achieving the funding target of Β£400,000. The aim is to undertake the refurbishment work to the track next Spring.
We would like to say a big thank you to Hereford City Council, Sport England and to the local athletics community for their drive, determination and support without which we would not have been able to get to this stage. We will share further updates as the project unfolds.
Great ride out yesterday to Broadway on the edge of the Cotswolds. Weather was awesome and we wound our way through the lanes to halfway stop for coffee and snacks on the green at Broadway. Some spirited riding at times on the way back but we all finished together with beers and pizza at The Wobbly Brewery.
ππ΄ββοΈπ΄ββοΈπ΄ββοΈπ΄ββοΈπ΄ββοΈπ΄ββοΈβοΈ some shocking tan lines as a result! π
Great Social ride yesterday out to Llangynidr with a great bunch. Timβs route choice for this recent birthday. Lots of tough climbing and some PBβs for some along the way. Finished with a couple of beers at βOur Benchβ at the Three Horse Shoes. Cracking day π π΄ββοΈπ΄ββοΈπ΄ββοΈπ΄ββοΈπ΄ββοΈπ΄ββοΈ
A group of our intrepid riders took on the Somerset Sportive which includes the infamous Cheddar Gorge climb towards the end. Itβs fair to say they had a cracking time looking at the photos, and worked together as a team, helping each other out. Well done lads π΄π»π΄π»π΄π»π΄π»π΄π»π
When we announced we were closing lots of our customers were concerned about where they will now take their bikes for servicing and repair work. Our trusted mechanic Fin who had worked with us for two years has now opened his own repair shop based on Rotherwas industrial estate! Heβs very experienced in working on high end road bikes but is also happy to take on any job, from basic puncture repairs to full rebuilds! Be sure to follow him! π§
Our Sunday ride was a little longer than normal in prep for a couple of our club riders taking on an event around Cheddar Gorge next weekend. A couple of damp stretches but dry otherwise and as always some great banter. Everyone worked hard together and finished together, despite a little bit of exuberance towards the end! No cafe stop, just a quick snack grab at Glasbury on the way back. And then a couple of us finished in The Wobbly Brewery for a few cheeky ones π»π΄π»π΄π»π΄π»π΄π»π΄π»π΄π»π΄π»π΄π»π΄π»π
Lovely dry albeit chilly day out North up to Leintwardine and across to Ludlow Food Hall and back via Tenbury and Bromyard.
Great group today and a bit of a spritely finish from Burley Gate back in.
Laughs as always ππ
Today we headed around the back lanes of East Herefordshire, which proved to be quite dirty and also a lumpy route.
Some highlights of the morning were Teddy neatly losing his bottle! A Ford crossing, a dog that barked like duck and a lovely cafe stop The Woodshed, Eastnor. Some spirited riding on the way back and a couple of pints for some of us at The Moon. Lovely day π΄π»π΄π»π΄π»π΄π»π΄π»π΄π»π΄π»π
Sunday Social Lovely ride today down to Abergavenny and Crickhowell then over Pengenffordd.
Fabulous bacon rolls and coffee The Honey Cafe and then cruised back to Hereford.
Usual banter and laughs and strong riding by everyone ππ΄ββοΈπ΄ββοΈπ΄ββοΈπ΄ββοΈπ΄ββοΈπ΄ββοΈπ΄ββοΈπ΄ββοΈπ΄ββοΈ
