Amazing service by Charlie's Tyre Shop LTD this morning. Totally flat tyre and I was unable to remove it. They booked me straight in and replaced it so that I can get to my customers on this cold day. Highly recommend. Thanks Mark & Marcus 😊

So sad to hear of the collapse of Wilko’s but it is a timely reminder of how we need to use our favourite high street and local shops or there is a danger that we’ll all close. Whilst there have been allegations that large supermarkets and retailers are profiteering from the cost of living crisis I can assure you that is certainly not the case for small and independant businesses. I’ve seen wholesale sweet and chocolate prices rocket by 25-30% but I know everyone is feeling the pinch and I can’t pass these costs on. I’ve been absorbing most of the increases and now pretty much sell everything less than the manufacturer’s RRP. As a business practice this is only sustainable if customers continue to come through the door in decent numbers. For a small business like mine just an extra 10 or 20 customers a day can make all the difference between a shop that is viable and one that isn’t. So please, if you can, once in a while ditch the supermarkets and out of town retail parks and explore the wealth of shops that are on your doorstep and show young children and grandchildren that not everything has to be purchased online or self scanned in a large store…you never know, they might even enjoy talking to real shopkeepers 😘 xx
