What a fantastic opportunity for someone and we would be delighted to support with the application, if needed. 🧡
For the past seven months we have been open on a Thursday and Friday as one of many wonderful Warm Spaces. During that time we welcomed almost 1500 amazing people, from all across Sunderland, into our Hub.
However, we are now no longer operating as a Warm Space. Now, we are our own Community Hub and with effect from Thursday 4th May we will only be open to Easington Lane residents.
Our Hearts & Minds Community Hub will be open every Thursday and Friday, 10am - 2pm for the people of Easington Lane, and it is being run by the people of Easington Lane.
We set up the Hub in The Lane to support the people in The Lane and now, operating as our own community space it is vital our resources go into supporting the local community.
If you live in Easington Lane, would like a cuppa and a conversation, a game of bingo, some independent advice and guidance, or even just 5 minutes to sit and watch the world go by then come and join us on a Thursday or Friday. We look forward to seeing you all there. 🧡
We hope everyone has their green fingers at the ready for today's OMEGA session.
When: 10:30am - 11:30am
Where: Hearts & Minds Community Hub, Easington Lane.
See you all there 🧡
Tomorrow, 10:30am - 11:30am we have the first of our FREE Omega sensory garden and healthy eating community sessions.
We are looking forward to seeing you all at Hearts & Minds Community Hub. All welcome.
So very true. Together we are stronger 💪
You may not feel it right now but I promise you, you're stronger than you think ❤️ Kylie x

Our week in pictures.
From ukulele lessons, homemade bread and scones coupled with a visit from Councillor Iain Scott for Hetton Ward, to bingo, and some women's self-care, our community have had a fab couple of days in our Hearts & Minds community hub. Thanks goes to Coalfield Sunderland Community and Cultural Spring for funding the ukulele lessons, Steve the ukulele teacher (he was brilliant, a real hit with the participants), and our wonderful volunteers and community members who make the Hub an amazing place to be 🧡
Moving on to our young people. We visited Elemore Park for a 16th birthday celebration lunch (food was lovely), went to Beamish to uncover some regional history, and distributed our wellbeing & learning packs for our outreach young people 🧡
An absolutely wonderful, activity packed week filled with laughter and love. Good times, good food, good friends. 🥰
Today is the day. The very first ukulele class in our Hearts & Minds Community Hub in Easington Lane. Very soon we will have our own little Band of Ukes 🎶🎵
To say we have the most amazing community members and volunteers is an understatement. Words cannot express how grateful we are to you all for everything you've done over these last two days. You are all unbelievably brilliant, and we want to say a huge thank you to you all. Have a wonderful weekend and see you next week ❤️🤗
70 people through our doors yesterday and today and smiles all round with everyone. It is so great to see the community come together, young and old, and of course our families. We love our Community and our Hub ❤️
And we christen our new TV with a movie for some young people who are here with their parents for some family time this half term. 🎬 🍿
Look at what has arrived. It goes up this afternoon and then we can start planning our movie morning.
Huge thanks to Coalfield Sunderland Community, Sunderland City Council Hetton City Councillors for the funding 🙏❤️
And today we get lots of sunshine to our souls and medicine for our minds because we will be around lots of beautiful people in our wonderful little community hub 💜
We are delighted to tell you all that Ken will be with us as usual on Friday mornings to help with all things ICT and UC related. And, of course, tea, coffee and cake will be available throughout the sessions ☕️🫖🍰
We are so very excited about some new activities that will be happening in our Community Hub over the next few weeks.
Starting next Thursday 20th April, and every Thursday until the 25th of May, 1:00pm - 2:30pm you can learn to play the ukulele. The sessions are free and refreshments will be provided.
There are 10 spaces available, in the first instance, so please contact Joanne on 07398 824988 if you would like to join the sessions.

The graphic at the end says it all.
It’s essential we understand our autistic children as young as possible.
Assuming we understand their sensory needs, communication needs, what causes meltdowns without fully understanding the child’s profile leads to years of getting it wrong, lots of unnecessary meltdowns and trauma.
We have so many wonderful resources to help you on your journey...

This fruit cake was DELICIOUS. A huge thank you to Bettsy Betts for everything she bakes for us almost on a weekly basis, it gives us all something to look forward to. Bettsy, you're a star 🌟 Thank you 😊
(P.s there's none left)
The staff and volunteers at our inclusive Hearts & Minds Community Hub support local residents in so many amazing ways.
We have a wonderful lady, who comes in every Thursday and Friday. She has complex learning difficulties and so we support her in any way we can. We have taught her how to make a cup of tea by herself (and a Pot Noodle), we support her with developing her reading and also with participating in the activities we provide.
Yesterday, to say thank you, she made this card for us and we feel so grateful and humbled that she loves our Hub so much, and that we can make a significantly positive difference to her life ❤️
We are back open on Friday 3rd of March with some of our usual activities. We had hoped to open tomorrow but with work still being done we have to wait until Friday. We do, though, have a great new opportunity running until the end of March, whereby you will be able to 'earn' a £10 gift vouchers. Come in and ask us about our 10 for 10, and of course see how our Hub looks a little different. Oh, and one last thing - we have two newbies we can't wait for you all to meet 🤭
We are feeling happy today. Not one but two new glass panes fitted, and now we are waiting to have carpets and upholstery cleaned. Finally, all cushions and throws are at the dry cleaners.
Of course, this means we won't be open until next week but when we do open we will be sparkly clean and shining like a new pin.
We have missed you all and cannot wait to see you back next Thursday 2nd March 09:30 - 2:30. ❤
We are indeed feeling thankful. A massive thank you to all the wonderful people who messaged to check in on us, making sure we are OK. We are good.
The Hub is closed for health and safety reasons. It's so that a pane of cracked glass can be replaced in one of the internal doors. Also, with so many bugs going around we need to take the time, again for health and safety reasons, to have the Hub deep cleaned, including carpets. Once everything is sorted we will be back up and running.
We have to mention, just for giggles, that there were a few conspiracy theories as to why we are closed. However, the messages of love and concern far outweighed those, so once again a huge thank you to the people who took the time to check in 🥰❤
Good morning, unfortunately we will be closed from today for just over a week to have some work done on our lovely little hub. We appreciate it is late notice but it is vital we have the maintenance completed asap. Once the work is complete we will be having a deep clean, including carpets and we will be like brand new for when we reopen. We will keep you all updated. See you all soon ♥️
What can you see in this photo and do you know where we are with our young people today?
When you meet the needs of a young person and they excel at their training. Well done Ella, now starting your own little business. We are so proud of you and you'll be a great success.
February half term activities at The Flatts. Should be great for the little ones 😊
