This Saturday - The Motorist & Sherburn Aero Club Christmas Market.

This will be a great day for the Petrol head.

Many trade stalls, I’ll be featuring there with my Motorsport and Aviation art.
I understand there will be a German car display also.
Oh, and the food at this great Automotive venue is outstanding.

“Baby Bertha”

This is my second Gerry Marshall piece of artwork, my “Old Nail” artwork was liked so much by Gerry Johnstone, the ex Dealer Team Vauxhall Manager asked me to do the car he called BB “Bloody Beautiful”.

One of the most ferocious and famous British national race cars ever, Baby Bertha was based on the Vauxhall Firenza but fitted with a full-race 5.0-litre Repco-tuned Holden V-8 producing 500 bhp.

The Motorist Christmas Market - Saturday 16th.
Sherburn near Leeds

If you’ve not yet visited this fantastic venue, this coming Saturday would be a good time to make it your first.
I’ll be there exhibiting, along with many more other traders.
The shop at this unique venue is full of motorsport memorabilia.
The cafe and Arnage Restaurant will be open. I ate there on my last visit and the food is outstanding.

I need some help guys.

I’ve been semi- commissioned by Gerry Johnstone, ( ex team manager of Dealer team Vauxhall) to do some artwork of Baby Bertha.
The artwork is all but completed apart from the retired Capri of Colin Hawker in the background. I’m working from a black and white very poor photo as reference.
Does anybody have any information on the colour scheme of this car.
I know he had Ford support, so I’m guessing that it was white with blue stripe and Castrol colours across the front of bonnet.
Any help would be much appreciated.

“Paris Street”

This is one of my favourite pieces of artwork.

One of my first Street scenes, I was pleased with the end result.

I sold this as a one off along with a similar piece and they are hung in a friends living room.

“Dear God”

My interpretation of Mr Vatanen’s near disaster on the 1983 Manx Rally, when he clipped a wall approaching a cattle grid and with some great skill, an arm full of opposite lock and a little bit of luck managed to avoid hitting the two heavy concrete posts and what would have surely been the second biggest accident of his career.

I’m sure that every Rally fan in the northern hemisphere has seen the video of this moment.
If you haven’t, then watch it on YouTube, you’ll then understand why I call this painting “Dear God”.

20 years ago, the most famous passenger jet of all time made its final flight.

There was a time when you could fly at the speed of a bullet and dine on caviar and champagne.
