Today some bloody lovely friends brought me this stunning tea from the prestigious Korean company Osulloc.

We tasted Sejak, a sensational steamed and roasted green tea. The dry leaves have a subtle aroma of shortbread and once brewed the profile was rich with umami. As we re-infused the taste became sweeter with a delicious elderberry top note.

I have more still to try, including two from Osulloc’s Master’s Tea series and even some of their tea infused confectioneries!

It was a trip to south-east Asia in his 20s which sparked Matt Porter's passion for tea. Matt had been wandering around south-east when he bumped into a local man in Malaysia who shared his knowledge of tea, tea plantations and the simple joy of tea drinking. Matt, who grew up in Huddersfield, now blends his own imported tea and on Friday opened a new shop, the Porter Hill Tea Company, located on Westgate in the town centre and part of the historic Byram Arcade. This gorgeous black tea is one of our firm favourites here and for good reason. It’s a GOLD MEDAL WINNER🥇and all round expertly crafted tea with silvery and golden tips which hails from the beautiful Sri Lanka 🇱🇰

The jumble of letters which follows it’s name stands for Flowery Broken Orange Pekoe Fannings Extra Special, which basically means it’s exceptional quality ⭐️

Lumbini offers a medium body followed by a delicate, honey/plum aftertaste which lingers on the palate. Fancy, eh?
