Our first evening event is here!

We had our first evening event last Thursday for the lovely team :) we did a delicious wild mushroom, goats cheese and spinach tart with a selection of seasonal salad platters and then a warm rhubarb almond and honee cake for dessert :) Thankyou for such a great evening 🌱💛🌞🌼

Hello everyone! :) it is our 2nd birthday tomorrow! 🎈🎈🎈Thankyou so much for all of your custom over the past 2 years it has been amazing to have you all as customers and see the cafe grow! We will be giving out free baby carrot cakes and chocolate raspberry cakes tomorrow so feel free to pop in and grab one! :) 💚🧡❤️💛

Happy Tuesday everyone :)! We try not to let anything go to waste here at Root so we turn our plurenden milk which we have not used in the week into ricotta which produces whey as part of the process :) this week we have used the whey to make organic cheddar, caramelised onion and home grown herb soda which will be available to add to your lunches tomorrow! 💛💛💛

Our vegan Christmas pies have been flying off the counter today! :) they are filled with chicken is a leek sauce, roasted veg, sausage stuffing and chutney. Morning! :) we have made the decision to stop using avocados for now at the cafe but are now using smashed peas instead! We have decided to do this due to the particularly high carbon footprint of avocados and have found a more seasonal alternative which is grown in the UK :)

Smashed peas are a great alternative! They are always picked in season and contain vitamins C,E, zinc and antioxidants to help strengthen your immune system :)

When your next in try our smashed peas on toast with organic feta and roasted tomatoes or add them to one of our delicious breakfasts! 🌱🌱🌱
