Fundraising
A group of Form 3 children and Mr Southern attended the GSAL Primary Maths Challenge yesterday. They spent the morning doing maths investigations, puzzles and quizzes, coming 5th out of 15 other schools! A brilliant event thank you
Events
PP4 have worked incredibly hard on poems they created all about the seaside. The children carefully planned, drafted, wrote and illustrated the poems in their books before typing them up.
They are very proud of themselves!
Educational Excellence
The JLT, Heads and Deputies went to Billy Bob's as an end of term 'thank you' treat. "Mrs C is so very proud of all the hard work this year - you are simply the best!"
Making Memories
A huge Westville Well Done to our children and parents who took part in this weekend's and to raise money for the school playground! Some brilliant results including 1st for Henry 2nd for Harry and 3rd for Rafe!

Super proud of Sebastian, Joseph and Louis, who competed in a world Rubik's cube event in Wakefield at the weekened! Inspired by Mr Southern and the many connections between maths and these wonderful puzzle cubes which can be connected to fractions, ratios and proportional reasoning!

Form 1 explored seed dispersal this week. They carried out a variety of activities mimicking the different ways seeds are dispersed to find out which method is most effective.
Hands-on Learning
Westville House School is currently seeking a highly skilled Bursar to join our enthusiastic and motivated team. You will be expected to support the Headteacher and Governors in maintaining and developing the high standards of management within the school. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the operational side of the school. This position would especially suit an experienced Bursar or Business Manager.
Hours: approximately 25 hours per week 8am-1pm, 35 weeks of the year term-time
Salary: Actual £21,875 - £22,750 Pro rata
Full-time equivalent to £52,000 - £54,080 pa
Closing date for applications: 2nd June 2024

Form 3 learnt all about asexual reproduction in plants this week. To explore the concept, the children are having a go at propagating their own rosemary plant and they looked thrilled with their work!

Mental Health Matters
A huge Westville WELL DONE to our participants and medallists!
This year we had a whopping 43 competitors and 20 medal winners plus a highly commended overall in the bursary prize - a phenomenal achievement.
Special mention to Mrs Willers and 5 of our children who sang beautifully in the Junior Ensemble Singing class on stage at the King's Hall Theatre, expertly accompanied by Mrs Colman on the piano.
It must never be underestimated the courage it takes for youngsters to take to the stage, with not only an audience but an adjudicator, their panel and all eyes on them.
A huge thank you to the Wharfedale Festival team for another wonderful event - the 118th one no less. See you all again next year!
