It’s been a long wait, but finally received my qualification certificate in barbering. Passing with a distinction mark which was the highest achievable grade. So much hard work went into this and I couldn’t be more proud of this achievement. Bigger things still to come on this journey. ✂️✂️

From a recommendation to pick a set of clippers up to now being a fully qualified barber, I’ve been around barbering for roughly 2 years, from being self taught to furthering my skills in college, studying at Glasgow Kelvin under Made Barbering Academy.

As U Do is a name that not many people understand but it was a personal phrase a close family member would say through text “do as u do” or in person would tell me it thus leading to the inspo for the name.

My passion and love for barbering is very high, the attention to provide texture, clean haircuts and to also give a comfortable environment is always a priority.

Not many know but I suffer from Autism, ADHD & Tourette’s which many folk I’ve encountered have a lack of understanding/awareness due to it being different each person. Barbering has helped me grow and prove that these labels don’t define who I am. This makes me want to always push to support those with additional needs if they were to be my client as I can understand the struggles of just needing a haircut or day to day life.

As I continue to grow in the industry and look for a place to work and grow, it makes me want to improve my skill set and always bring the best. Im always grateful for the support I have already and hope to keep continuing to grow clientele and build successfully.

With it being Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month, I’d like to let all clients new and old know that I am a massive advocate for supporting mental health. A reminder!

I’d like to remind clients, that even though i currently work at home, that I still want to be seen as a business. I want to grow in this career, and all i ask for is a little consideration to realise just because I work from home, doesn’t mean I’m not serious enough.

I’ve had more and more people book, then never turn up and ignore me or ask to reschedule to the next day and again just patch it off and when messaged for the no show they just completely blank.

Due to this, I’m now going to require deposits for booking with myself as it’s not fair that as im trying to really grow, people can’t respect. I feel this is a fair boundary that means I don’t lose out on work, where that space could’ve gone to someone else needing.

Sometimes I get so caught up in the moment of cutting that I tell myself that I ain’t progressing, I shouldn’t be doing what I do and I need to stop this.

Came across the photo of my very first fade compared to my recent one and realised I deserve to be here, I have progressed and this dream is truly worth it.

I’ve had moments of being slandered on socials, in person and on people’s private stories and it was more fuel to push me to be better.

Thanks to for being a true mate and supporting from day one and staying by to slow me to progress.
