A pet that goes missing is one of the hardest things to live through, I’ve been there and I know how that feels. ❤️

Pet Bereavement leave is something I feel strongly about, compassion and understanding for your member of staff who has lost their pet is surely not too much to ask ?
The expectation that you can rock up to work and be unaffected and perform your duties as normal is not only heartless but dangerous to them and maybe other people too.
Emotional distress can cause lack of focus and concentration, mistakes or accidents more likely to happen.
The employment rights act of 1996 states you have the right to reasonable time off following the loss of a dependent, I believe this should cover pets, they are after all dependent on you and most certainly family . A couple of days off is not too much to ask for surely ?
Let’s hope there will be an amendment soon to include pet loss .

YES , it’s so true . I am personally navigating through the loss of my mum at the moment, but grief doesn’t care wether your a human or an animal it’s hard .💔

This is often a really difficult trigger to overcome. The welcome home , a picture of your pet just on a wall or table as you come in can help, you can still speak to them , even although the physical presence is gone .❤️

Hello, I'm Gail. After months of studying and planning I'm pleased to finally welcome you to my new business page - Forever Loved - Highland Pet Loss Counselling.

My aim is to provide a one-to-one support service to people who are grieving the loss of their animal companion or having to face making difficult decisions.

I started this journey because I wished there had been someone I could've talked to after suffering the loss of my own four-legged best friend. I had no idea I could feel so overwhelmed with grief and how lonely that could be.

I want people to feel that their loss is important and it does matter, and I can help them to heal and move forward.

After completing many courses and over my lifetime experiencing many losses in many different circumstances, I feel I'm able to offer knowledge, kindness and compassion to help others navigate their grief in a caring and confidential setting.
