We’re excited to share the latest construction progress photos of Parklands’ new flagship care home at Milton of Leys in Inverness.
Our team has now erected scaffolding to allow for the installation of the roof, with the first floor’s internal and external timber kit wall panels also installed. The blockwork for the stair cores and lift shaft is complete and currently awaiting the installation of precast lids.
Offering picturesque views of the Moray Firth, when complete, this will be the largest purpose-built care home within the Parklands group, which currently operates 12 care homes across the Highlands and Moray.
A massive happy 40th birthday to our Procurement Manager Craig🥳 we hope that you have a brilliant day 🎈 🎈
Our team has grown steadily since the acquisition by GEG Capital in May 2022, with the recent promotions of Michael Cameron and Ian McMillan paving the way for the promotion of Brian Morrison to Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality Manager. Congratulations to Brian, whose leadership and development of our HSEQ are key parts of the ambitious growth strategy for Capstone!
“Brian Morrison has been with the team since December 2016 and has been instrumental in our investment program in these key areas of our business. His promotion reflects the company’s commitment to the continual improvement of our HSEQ management systems and standards, highlighted by achieving ISO 9001 certification earlier this year.” – Rhona Donnelly, Managing Director of Capstone Construction

We recently handed over our Campbell Close development in Golspie to The Highland Council, marking their first new-build social housing project in the Highland seaside village in 30 years. The development has been named in memory of Hamish Campbell and Campbell Port, who were described by the local authority as two 'prominent and dearly missed' members of the Golspie community.
The development features 20 new homes, constructed in seven separate blocks, including two, three, and four-bedroom villas, two-bedroom cottages, and one-bedroom cottage flats. The works were divided between two sites in Golspie: six blocks comprising 17 housing units are located on the South Argo Terrace site, and one block comprising three housing units is situated on the Main Street site adjacent to the Seaforth House resource hub.

Capstone Construction received a lovely thank you card from Resolis Primary School. 😀
We are so pleased we could help contribute towards the youngsters being able to buy new books for their school 📚
Congratulations to the 744 competitors who completed the 40th Highland Cross on Saturday 22nd June — a duathlon that spans 50 miles, combining a challenging 20-mile walk or run with an exhilarating 30-mile cycling journey through the breath-taking landscapes from Kintail through Glen Affric and Strathglass to Beauly.
Capstone Construction, along with many other local businesses, played a crucial role in ensuring the success of the event. We generously donated vans, ensuring that volunteers, bikes, and necessary equipment were safely transported to and from the start and finish lines. In addition, our team helped clear the cycle route by trimming branches and filling potholes, ensuring a smooth and safe experience for all competitors.
With almost £6 million having been accumulated for good causes over the last few decades, participating teams were required to pledge a minimum of £500 in sponsorship. The four principal charities nominated for this year were Cantraybridge College, Highland BlindCraft, Highland Disability Sport, and L’Arche Highland.
We're delighted to announce the appointment of two director-level promotions! Ian McMillan (pictured left), formerly our Operations Manager, has been promoted to the newly established role of Construction Director, while Michael Cameron (pictured right), previously holding the position of our Estimating Manager, has stepped into the newly created role of Commercial Director.
"I am delighted that both Michael and Ian have accepted their new director roles within the business. Having already secured over £21 million in work this year – including social housing for HHA at Slackbuie in Inverness and Albyn Housing Society at Castle Park in Dingwall, an extension at the bakery for Harry Gows in Smithton, and a new flagship care home for Parklands in Milton of Ley Inverness, the experience they bring to delivering these projects, as well as their assistance in securing new business going forward, is invaluable." - Rhona Donnelly, MD of Capstone Construction

Congratulations to our site manager Bob Grant and his team who did a great job at our site in Cawdor Road Nairn.
Due to their amazing efforts, Capstone Construction has received the Bronze National Site award for the Considerate Constructors Scheme.
We are delighted to share the below video following on from Edward Mountain's (Highlands & Islands MSP) recent visit to the site of a new care home in Inverness. Owned by Care Homes and with construction led by Capstone Construction, £11 million has been invested in the flagship care home at Milton of Leys. It is expected to create around 120 full-time equivalent jobs when it opens in April 2025.
"It's one of the most exciting projects that we have in our portfolio at this moment in time. It's a bespoke nursing home with a lot of wonderful features that reflect the Highland area. We're really happy to be working with Parklands again and hope that this will be the start of many joint ventures for us going forward." - Rhona Donnelly, Capstone Construction's MD
We're thrilled to announce that Capstone Construction has, for the first time, become a strip sponsor for the U14s team at Caberfeidh Shinty Club.
Scott MacLennan commented: "As Capstone Constructions' Site Manager and the Youth Team Coach at Caberfeidh Shinty Club, I am looking forward to witnessing the positive impact of the sponsorship. Formed in 1886, the Club is one of the most senior sports clubs within the Strathpeffer area and has always maintained strong links with the community."
He added: "The Club has experienced considerable success over the years at all levels and is at the forefront of encouraging shinty in schools and at the youth level, running weekly coaching sessions in local primary schools and also youth coaching sessions at the Club training nights."
Congratulations to our Administrator, Beth Saunders, and her partner, Darryl Geegan, for achieving third place in the recent grand finale of Strictly Inverness 2024!
Beth made an extraordinary contribution by raising £27,200 for the Highland Hospice and Inverness Ice Centre, setting a new record for the highest amount ever raised by a female competitor in the history of the competition!
We are immensely proud of Beth's remarkable achievement. This success would not have been possible without the incredible support from everyone who donated, sponsored, and helped organise the fundraising events.
Congratulations to our Administrator Beth and her partner Darryl who were crowned Team Thursday winners!🏆✨
Beth & Darryl scored 3 9's in their first dance which was a Street Dance and then they pulled it out of the bag with full marks - 3 10's in their second dance which was a Bachata! 💃
Beth was also crowned top fundraiser overall, as she managed to raise a whopping £27,200!!! This would not have been possible without the massive support from everyone that has donated, sponsored and assisted to organise the fundraising events.
We as a business are super proud of Beth's achievement so far and wish them all the best of luck in the final tomorrow!
BANK HOLIDAY WEEKEND 🎉
After today we will be shutting for the bank holiday weekend and will be back in the office on Tuesday the 7th.

We're delighted to confirm the completion of works at Cawdor Road, Nairn, which consisted of the construction of 22 units for Albyn Housing Society.
The project comprised of 10 Fit Homes (an innovative type of home developed by Albyn Housing Society (with support from the Inverness & Highland City-Region Deal) to allow vulnerable and elderly tenants to live independently for longer) and 12 Cottage Flats. The Fit Homes consist of 3 blocks of 1 bed/2P bungalows and 1 block of 1 bed/2P Cottage Flats.
The construction works included all landscaping, tree protection, and the creation of a bund and acoustic fence between the Fit Homes and the existing sawmill. The works also included alterations to the existing access road at the Manor Care Home and the formation of a path linking the 12 Flats to the car park.
We recently completed groundworks at a new residential development in the Slackbuie area of Inverness. Led by Highland Housing Alliance (HHA), the development comprises 24 new homes, with the first residents expected to move in during 2025.
“HHA is a trusted delivery partner with an ambitious and commendable vision to improve the housing market across the Highlands. The 24 new homes in Slackbuie will be a welcome addition to the neighbourhood, offering close proximity to a range of local amenities and community services, as well as Inverness city centre just a short distance away. Completion of the groundworks marks a significant milestone in our construction timeline and we’re looking forward to seeing the homes take shape.” - Rhona Donnelly, Managing Director, Capstone Construction,

Plans for 66 new homes on land at the edge of Invergordon, have been given the green light by The Highland Council North Area Planning committee. The consent for the much-needed housing is the first granted in the area since the nearby Inverness and Cromarty Firth was awarded Green Freeport status.
“This is an exciting opportunity for Invergordon and the Highlands. Capstone is not only looking forward to delivering a housing development which Invergordon can be proud of but also working with the planning department and the local community together with their representatives to safeguard the ancient woodland at Rosskeen for future generations." - Rhona Donnelly, Managing Director, Capstone Construction
“The granting of permission to this much needed mix of affordable and private housing is an extremely positive statement from the Highland Council and is further testament to their commitment to growing the Highland economy and maximising the once in a generation opportunities that the Green Freeport will bring. Not only will the new development in Invergordon mark a significant step in providing housing for skilled workers moving to the area - importantly, it will also provide affordable housing for those that wish to stay and work in the region." - Calum MacPherson, Chief Executive of Inverness & Cromarty Firth Green Freeport
