**Calling all Summer Reading Challenge Participants!**
Record numbers of you have signed up this year, but so far very few readers have been in to collect their stickers and prizes. With all of the rainy weather we have had, we're certain you've all been reading loads of books, so please don't forget to come in and tell us about them! 📚📖🥇

16/07/2024

**Evening Opening Hours Consultation**

We are currently running a public consultation on our opening hours with respect to moving our evening hours from a Wednesday to a Tuesday. This means we would be open Tuesdays from 1-8 and Wednesdays from 10-5. All other days would remain the same and our total number of opening hours would be unaffected. This change would allow us some scope to offer new evening programming for families and adults and gives customers a longer day of borrowing on Tuesdays.

Surveys to collect your views are available to fill out in the library until 16th August or can be printed out from the photo below and returned to the library at your convenience.

Look what’s new on the shelves! Introducing our “Shelf Life” collection of books on climate conversations.

This has been funded by The Scottish Library & Information Council (SLIC) Climate Engagement Fund as part of a project which aims to raise awareness of issues such as recycling, sustainability, and climate change.

As part this, we have added a number of new titles to our library collections in addition to what we already have supporting the wider Climate Conversation. These books have been suggested by members of the public - visit https://hlh.spydus.co.uk/ to explore the collection as well as other titles related to climate conversations.

A wider list of titles, including the library books pictured can be found at: https://highlandadapts.scot/42-climate-book-recommendations and https://highlifehighlandranger.substack.com/ - be sure have a look on your next visit!
