Great info from Ian Spring Sheppard ❄️ 👇

Low temperatures will see changes to:

• System pressure

• Hose wall expansion

• Water flow

• Pump current draw

• Battery life.

The cold makes the hose much stiffer and it cannot expand as much. This means it can carry less water and flow can be reduced. To maintain flow, the pump will have to work harder and draw more current. This may see controllers dead ending unexpectedly. Increasing calibration will help. This can be done manually or by running auto calibration (set flow rates 1st).

Batteries can also be affected by the cold and may need charging more frequently than usual to keep them in good condition.

Where pumps and hoses freeze, the pump pressure switch will activate due to the blockage with controllers showing PS.
