Some GP Practices will be closed for the afternoon today (20th of June) to carry out staff training. During these times the Ayrshire Urgent Care Service will provide urgent care and support to patients of practices which are closed.

Patients or Community Pharmacies who require to contact a participating GP Practice urgently during the time they are closed for Protected Learning Time should call the Ayrshire Urgent Care Service on 01563 826930.

Arran Medical Group will be closed on Monday 27th May for the bank holiday. We will re open on Tuesday 28th May at 8.30am.

Important Information: On the 27th of May, GP practices, some Dentists and some Pharmacies will be closed. Some community pharmacies will remain open during this period and can answer questions on choosing and using the right medicine and provide advice on treating everyday ailments.

I am a GP partner in Arran Medical Group and have worked on Arran since 2002. Like most GPs here I have a broad role including traditional rural general practice and Out of Hours primary care, accident & emergency and inpatient care. I am also the clinical lead on Arran for the Health and Social Care Partnership. I most value having a varied and interesting role that gives a lot of job satisfaction. We have a fantastic healthcare team on Arran and the island is a great place to live and work.

My wife, Faye is also a GP here, and Arran has been a fantastic home for our three girls. My main hobby is cycling and Arran and the surrounding areas offer amazing routes for road, gravel and mountain biking.
