I'm so proud to announce that throughout October five of the business' I manage were issued Tripadvisor awards 🎉✨️ were viewed more than 50,000 times on Google, and ALL my clients saw steady - marked increases across reach and impressions!

Why is it relevant? Unlike new SMM's my focus isn't just the latest trending platform... (although I do that too 💁‍♀️) It's understanding and working with the algorithms, it's time, tried and tested methods, it's understanding the demographic of your audience and working consistently across all platforms (even those you might consider outdated or irrelevant).

Three times this week I have personally tried to use services and had to call the establishment because I couldn't find the basic necessary information online. This week, I took part in an expert social media workshop, introducing and implementing new social media algorithms to get the highest performance and growth for clients. This week, I shot, edited and released my first promotional video, this week I created reels for the first time and this week I reached over 30,000 customers, for my clients. That's 30,000 people reading my words, looking at my photographs, being influenced by me...

I'm often questioned if I consider my work a real job. So, I asked my daughter (34 months) what mummy does for work and she replied: Takes pictures, makes pictures, marketering (marketing), writer, the best 💕
So, I think whatever you class as a 'real job' if you do what you love, and make a difference, even if that is just one person, then it's real.

Tuesday - I thought I'd check in on the growth of a page I started managing just two days ago...✌️❤️

Recently someone asked me to put a time frame on my work and the truth is, I couldn't. I don't switch off, I put as much love and dedication into your business as you do. He seemed to think this meant I was undervalued and underpriced but why?

I'm passionate about small business growth and people over profit, it's as complicated and as simple as that. Supporting small helps keep families at home together, helps parents work with flexibility and means that you get a product or service that someone has whole heartedly thrown themselves into. I love language, I love words, I love how even the simplest of statements when expressed profoundly enough can shake your very soul, how as readers you can interpret and reflect your own meaning, experience and live someone else's words your own way.

Thursday: For as long as I can remember Thursday has been one of my favourite days of the week, for different reasons.

When I was a child, Thursday would be the day that my Grandmother would pick me up from pre-school, we'd usually stop by the bakery and then visit her friend Mrs. Scar to indulge in a cup of tea with cake and idle gossip (or so I now assume).

As a teen Thursday meant the weekend being within grasp, usually packing for the next camping trip or caravan break with family. Thursday would be a night for finishing homework and anticipating the fun ahead.

As a student in my early 20's, Thursday ment a lecture-free afternoon, leaving plenty of time for pre-drinks and preparation for a night out at Welly.

Sadly, The Welly announced it's closure today and like so many locals or visiting students who have passed through it's doors, both in years gone by or more recently; the memories (or lack thereof) and legend of it's alternative nights and the 'moshers' who frequented it, will live on forever in the hearts of those kids who finally felt at home, just once a week. Welcomed by damp walls and sticky dance floors, smoke clouds and steamy bodies doing dark acts in dark corners... or sometimes, not so dark.

R.I.P. Welly - Just like those unwashable ink-stamps, you will remain an unerasable landmark of Hull's History and our hearts!
