Kingswood United Hornets U13's
Local grassroots football team.
Monday training in the hot weather.
After the friendly Sunday we looked at some bits and what we could work on together.
A light but fun training session as we looked at reaction speed, early passes and protecting the ball.
Great little session and boys did very well again in the heat.
We move into Wednesday and another Friendly v Barham at Alderman kneeshaw park 6.30Ko

Sunday Friendly for the Kingswood United Hornets U13's in the warm sunshine took on Pelican United Football Club. Previous meetings with Ian's lads are always great and competitive with both teams always learning. Hornets took 17 lads on a rare occasion only 2 missing from the full amount of lads currently training and playing.
The game started off well for Kingswood with an early chance coming from the boys as the pressed hard and pressured pelican. A great counter attack from pelican tested Kingswood defence and keeper early also.
The boys settled and started to play some good football and Harvey coming off his right wing to a central position was rewarded with a good 1st goal on 8 mins.
A 2nd followed 10 minutes later after a scrappy 18 yard box failed to clear and jake was rewarded with a goal from his hard work on 18mins
Half time came and with Hornets 2-0 up we spoke about composure and ensuring we covered each other going into the 2nd half.
Hornets didn't start the 2nd half and pelican where rewarded with a good bicycle kick on the 1st minute of the 2nd half. 2-1 46mins
Kingswood didn't drop there heads and Harvey after some great high pressure found himself with the ball at feet and quickly into the back of the net 3-1 58mins
A strong 5 mins of play again found Harvey to the right of the box and with ball bouncing finished off a nice volley to claim his HatTrick 4-1 53mins.
A few changes of position to test the lads on covering positions where soon rewarded with a good ball through to Taylor who finished off from just inside the box on 60 mins 5-1
With more changes the lads looked to continue with pressure playing a very high line again rewarding the hard work ans Jacob hitting an early ball from the edge of the area scoring his 1st ever goal for the Hornets. 64 mins 6-1
The last 6mins looked hard after boys had pushed themselves and pelican unlucky not to have 2 goals themselves which where ruled offside as well as a free kick that saw pelican unmarked at the back post to slot home but to be brought back as referee hadn't restarted play.
70 mins and full time 6-1 and lads had given everything.
Parents MOM the Hatrick hero Harvey never stopped working for his team and played mutplie positions.
Coaches MOM went to the defenders Max and Thomas D as we had to shuffled early with an injury to Harry they did outstanding and never stopped working.
Thank you to Ian and his pelican team for continuing and never stopped working.
Thank you to Referee Emily who again was outstanding and kept talking to the boys throughout the game.
Thank you to all the support from parents, grandparents and supported of the boys.
Finally thanks to sponsors as always a huge thanks from boys ans coaches.

All welcome.
Sunday Hornets took on Hall Road Panthers at St Mary's. An early start for the boys but straight from KO looked sharp and vocal. Some fantastic passing in this game which came with boys working all over the pitch for each other looking for the passes into the right channels and areas.
Final score was 3-0 with goals from Taylor x 1 and Harvey x 2 but both coaches where really impressed with the overall team performance.
Parents player of the match was Harvey who claimed 2 goals and looked sharp after returning from his holiday.
Coaches player was Olly B playing from midfield looked to get some great balls into the strikers and dominated his position.
Thank you to all the boys, parents and
sponsors.
Thanks also to Hall Road for hosting and wish them all.the best for next season.
And referee Thomas who kept talking yo the boys all the way through the game.

Futsal Wednesday for Amber's was not so great when opponents pulled out at last minute and with us all in the carpark we decided to take a training session. 4v4 with a 3 pass rule and no shooting from own half we did just under and hour and boys left sweaty and enjoying just playing some football. Great to see the boys attitude to stay and play.

Monday training for the Hornets. Boys started off with 2 laps of the field, moved onto sprint runs mixed into a fun challenge.
We moved into pass, possession, working together to retain the ball.
Finishing with crosses into the box from width on the wings and switching plays.
Boys worked hard and we continue to keep building our strength and stamina.
We go into the week with a good start at training. Amber's have Futsal on Wednesday before taking our 1st friendly on Thursday at 11v11.

2023/24 season finished with our last tournament of the year at Withernsea. A wet and miserable day still we enjoyed the day as a team including Alfie who played his last game for the Hornets as makes the transition to Thunders. The boys started well and thanks to Referee Steve Spruce who kept the games flowing without a break.
Boys kept all games close but never stopped trying with some great indidual and teamwork moments.
Fantastic efforts from Parents again braving the weather and enjoying the day.
It was our final game against Withernsea that the boys really stood up after being previously beaten by a hard working Withernsea buy lads stuck to the task and came away with a Draw. .
That brings our 1st season to an end and we now look to our new format in 11v11. Will be looking at friendlies and bringing in new players where needed to strengthen us as a team.
Thanks to the players, parents, sponsors and everyone associated with the Hornets for the whole season that made it our 1st ever season.

PRESENTATION DAY
The Hornets finally had there 1st ever actual presentation day and night after completing the league season.
The day was planned, organised and throughly enjoyed with the boys all meeting up at 9.30 in the monsoon of rain 🌧 to enjoy the 1st session of go-karting. Was great to see all the lads competing against each other looking for the next overtaking move or where people had spun out/crashed. 18 laps later and with everyone soaked the 1st session was completed. A small break and we where back on the track for a 2nd 15 minutes. With even heavier rain the crashes where brutal and rain eventalually stopped play.
Lads all loved it with medals going to
fastest lap Riley K
Most spins Thomas K and Riley H
1st Riley
2nd Olly
3rd Harry.
2nd Race
1st Riley K
2nd Olly B
3rd Alfie
We all left to get dry and met back up for 18 holes of Footgolf again a team and indidual fun challenge prizes where handed out for overall team winners Ewan, Fred, Olly W and Rich. Overall adult winner Sean.
Overall boy winner Fred
Team losers Dylan, Harry, Alfie and Shaun
Adult losers went to Shaun and Dave.
Moving onto Active to begin the presentation.
A fantastic room again credited to the mum parents Kirsty, Dani, Elle, Kim, Gemma and Emma who made it look brilliant.
We started with handing out medals and wooden spoons for the days events. We moved into the individual boy mentions with stats from the season as well as some positives from where they started. We mentioned players that had moved on and away from the team but had continued to help throughout the season. A mention to past players who without them the team wouldn't have ever formed and competed in the 1st ever season.
We moved onto special awards for
Parents player - Ewan
Players Player - Dylan
Coaches Playet - Tyler
We moved onto thanking the volunteers that we had throughout the season as well as parents for the support shown in all weather's.
A huge thank you to Karl our assistant coach for how far he has grown and now progessing with his own Level 1 coaching badge.
We then all sat together and watch a nervous England 🏴 progress through penalties as a team.
Huge bonding session with lads loving the whole day ❤️
Finally a thank you to our sponsors for the support and belief they had shown and done for the Hornets. These sponsors where huge In keeping the boys warm, dry and to have the equipment required to train. This is always appreciated and again thank you.

Training again was split between blacks at East Riding Futsal Club and remaining lads with Dave at Kinloss.
Karl and Hornets Blacks did very well again coming against some good players but holding there own which has seen the boys grow in confidence each week and learning the small sided game.
Kinloss boys worked on fitness, stamina, dribbling and some 1v1 and 2v2 passing games.
Again lads did great and set some good lap times for themselves but never stopped trying all night and got stronger training for over 70 mins.
Boys move into the weekend of relaxation with the end of season presentation with Karting, footgolf, food, presentation and watching the England 🏴 game together to finish.
We are still looking for raffle prizes if anyone has anything to donate.

Futsal Wednesday for the Amber's taking on North Ferriby. The boys have come on so much since joining East Riding Futsal Club and are learning each week what's required to be competitive. An early injury to Dylan meant the remaining lads had to work harder for longer but never gave up. A great night overall and all games where very close. Well done 👏

Hall road tournament for the Hornets where the boys did really well coming up against some great teams but managing to keep them quiet. Progressing to the quarter-finals and after 16 minutes where level and moved into penalties. Unfortunately missing out with Riley wildcats taking the win on pens. A fantastic day for all the lads and a we'll organised tournament.
