I’m Jayne, a fully qualified and experienced clinical reflexology practitioner.

I have the Centralia Reflexology Mastership qualification at Level 5, the highest level of Reflexology training currently available in the UK. Centralia is the only UK member of Reflexology in Europe.

I trained with David Wayte, who was the first reflexology therapist to gain membership of the Royal Society of Medicine and is the Principal of Jubilee College.

Having previously worked as a lawyer for over 30 years, I found complementary therapies helped me to relax and re-focus. My experience of that environment led me to search for a better alternative and that’s when I discovered reflexology!

I understand how the stresses and strains of life can develop into serious health concerns, both mentally and physically. That’s where reflexology can help – to relax, revive and restore well-being. It’s wonderful to see the difference reflexology can make!

Carla from The Lunar Loving Witch will be joining us offering tarot readings and (weather dependent!) 2 Chakradance Kids classes.

Chakradance kids is aimed at 3-6 year olds and combines music, storytelling and movement into a healing modality that gets kids feeling comfortable with all their tricky feelings. The 45 minute session takes them through energy protection methods, a chakra rebalance and a meditation along with some fun dancing allowing them to shake and move their body however feels good for them!

Classes will be at 11am and 2pm in the gazebo outside - please note that parents are not expected to join in on the class but will have to remain with their child for the duration.

We've the lovely Amy from Amy at Sacred Sounds with us doing a workshop which will be £5 per person
Amy uses sound healing including gong, crystal bowls and other instruments for her sound baths. Creating a relaxing atmosphere the sound and vibrations wash over you whilst you bathe in sound.

Sound baths are both a meditative and healing experience. The vibrational tones produced by the Crystal singing bowls alter the brain waves, dropping you into a deep state of relaxation, as well as moving, shifting and re-aligning the energy within and around the body.

I'm Sophie, the founder of TULA. I am an Ayurveda Practitioner, Reiki healer, and holistic therapist. I am passionate about helping people heal their body, mind and soul in a natural way.

I will be offering 15 minute Indian Head Massage sessions at the Wellness Festival and giving a talk on Ayurveda and how this ancient healing science can help us understand our individual constitutions and how we can balance our gut to prevent and cure conditions and disorders in the body and mind.

IMPORTANT NEWS RE WEEKEND's WELLNESS FESTIVAL - POSTPONEMENT

We are so incredibly sad, but also very aware of the importance and safety of those who attend Henshaws,
Annie and Jay xx

Henshaws Press Release:

Henshaws Arts and Crafts Centre in Knaresborough are closing their centre to external visitors, until further notice, upon clinical advice, to protect our vulnerable service users and to mitigate the virus risk.

There is a weekend event this weekend (Wellness Festival) which is now to be postponed. This is because we cannot guarantee that we have the right infection resources in place to ensure that the centre will be free of infection risk by the start of activities on Monday.

The centre works with disabled people from across the town and beyond and many of its art makers are vulnerable because of existing health conditions.

Centre Manager Maria Dawbarn said:

“After discussions with our senior management and clinical care teams and because the client group we work with are vulnerable, we have decided to reduce the risk by closing the centre to external visitors until further notice. We will also cancel any non-essential meetings and events.”

“We have always had fantastic support from the people of Knaresborough and Harrogate and I am sure they will understand our decision, which was not taken lightly.”
