Love Louise Creations

Hello, I love lino printing, crochet, knitting, and basically any crafty thing I come across!

23/07/2023

Good morning, lovely people! Apparently, I am appalling at advertising ๐Ÿ™ƒ BUT, there is still time for your plans today to involve heading to Galgate and supporting some small businesses who make beautiful things ๐Ÿ˜‰

I, personally, am bringing very cute amigurumi; very clever reusable water balloons; pretty gin-themed tote bags; and some original, limited edition prints. All made with my own fair hands ๐Ÿ˜…

Showcasing some of the things I'll be selling next week!

First up: The Pudding Hat ๐Ÿฅณ
These are so snuggly warm, while also being very, very cute & Christmassy. Six sizes available, from baby to adult.
I will try to have the full range of sizes with me, but these have been very popular, so it's all about how many I can make in time ๐Ÿ˜…

Don't forget to come along and support small, local businesses as well as on Friday 2nd December at St Christopher's Church, Bare 5-9pm!

Pattern: Inspired by the pumpkin hat by

I have been so rubbish with the socials lately ๐Ÿ™ˆ But I will be selling my wares at the Christmas Craft Fair on Friday 2nd December! So please do come down to say hello; get in the festive spirit; and help support this excellent charity.

I'll be posting sneak previews of my Christmas Creations over the next couple of weeks...

Stopped by at the Williamson Park Christmas Market today and picked up this tasty little number! The Toblerone blondie is delicious ๐Ÿคค

If you are a woman with a business idea, or you're just starting out in self employment, The Growing Club runs a course called Roots & Shoots that you may be interested in! It runs over 12 months: every 2 weeks for 6 months & then once a month for 6 months. It's a very supportive, informative & resource-rich course, helping to build confidence and develop business skills.

There is no charge if you are unemployed and/or in receipt of benefits; and a flexible charge otherwise.

I took part in it myself a couple of years ago, and will be a trainee trainer on the new course starting in November. Please do get in touch if you're interested - with either myself or the Growing Club directly - and we can give you more information.

Also, if you know anyone else who would be interested, feel free to pass this on xx

Making slow progress on this fiddly little number, while I man the stall.

Points if you can tell me where this is!

I have been remiss!! On this very Sunday (as in not tomorrow, but the day after) I will be at the village hall in Glasson Dock, selling my wares alongside many other talented crafters!

I will have some linocut prints; tote bags; postcards; and assorted crocheted things.

You should definitely come on down if you are even remotely in the area โค๏ธ

I hate the beach. It's hot. It's busy. It's noisy. It's exposed. Sand is just fancy dirt.

But on a summer's evening...it's quiet. It's calming. It's beautiful. It's memories of long walks and talks with my Dad when I was younger: drawing a literal line in the sand and saying we'll go home when the water reaches it, but then just drawing another and another.

It always reminds me of Jane Austen's words in 'Persuasion':
"...as all must linger and gaze on a first return to the sea, who ever deserved to look on it at all..."

It is tranquil. And I love it.

Having a whale of a time with the latest box of loo roll from
These two are excited about the colouring and loo-finding; I'm excited about 6-8 more months of sustainable toilet roll ๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿงป๐Ÿšฝ

If you haven't tried it yet, it is definitely time!

Haaaaaaaaaaaa! Video was obviously too long for Instagram to handle! This is the other half of it...hopefully ๐Ÿ˜‚

I was going to do this bit by bit, but that's dull & I have no patience for it ๐Ÿ˜…

So here is my very first reduction print in full! I made so very many mistakes as I went along & learned a LOT for future endeavours. I am still so proud of these prints though and I love how they turned out. I hope you do, too!

A month of planning, carving, printing and worrying, all condensed into just under 3 minutes and presented for your viewing pleasure. Let me know what you think ๐Ÿ™ˆโค๏ธ

As it's Wednesday, here is a shot of the organised chaos that is my kitchen table at the moment!

Colour doesn't come naturally to me - and I've always loved the look of monochrome prints - so this reduction print is a HUGE departure from my normal style. Already made roughly 5,000 mistakes, but having a great time making them!

Can't wait to share the process and the final pieces, but I'll have to 'cause it's still not done ๐Ÿ™ƒ

I was in the middle of this fiddly bit when a certain young lady decided her nap was over ๐Ÿ™„ She has not been kind to me on the nap front today!! Luckily for her, she's being very, very cute at the moment ๐Ÿ˜‚

Currently working on my very first reduction linocut...and being too much of a wuss to post progress on here as I go along ๐Ÿคก Documenting it all to share at the end though.

MY PAPER ARRIIIIIIIIIVED!!!!

I am SO excited to get going on my next project - not least because I haven't used any of these papers before! A small selection from (& Bezos, sadly, it was a moment of weakness).

But first! The other half is off work today, so we took the smallest one out for some fresh air and muddy hands. I love tree stumps a ridiculous amount. Just being outdoors makes me feel...better. And during it seems appropriate to talk about the things that make life feel that bit brighter.

For me, it's my girls (in good moods, haha); my partner; sunshine; woodlands; tree stumps; being near the sea; growing things; time spent with family and friends; printing; crochet; Terry Pratchett audiobooks; and delicious food. Actually, I could go on for a bit, so that's just the highlights ๐Ÿ˜…

What lifts you up??

Gardening is good for the soul!

Still waiting on supplies, but today the sun is shining, so I have been working on the garden while the baby naps. I'm desperate for a proper, big garden, with lawn and so on, but keep ending up in houses with small yards or patios ๐Ÿ˜…

This may not look particularly spectacular, but compared to last year, it's amazing! Can't wait for all my green things to be out and growing happily; and for my girls to be able to enjoy it, too.

Don't forget to go outside and soak up your vitamin D today, lovelies โค๏ธ

Il pleut...

Today I am sulking because I got all excited about a (stupidly ambitious) new printing project and only got so far before realising I don't have enough paper to do it ๐Ÿคก

Nor do I have the yarn I need to start the crochet project I want to do next.

And it is raining.

So I cheered myself up with some silliness. I adapted the bunny pattern to make this very expressive cat ๐Ÿฑ I'll be sending it off to its new home soon and in the meantime, I'm enjoying its aura of existential crisis ๐Ÿ˜…

What are you all up to on this rainy Friday afternoon?

04/05/2022

Progress has been sloooow, lately! But here is a headless bunny for ! I love these guys, and am working on getting a few made up to add to Etsy asap.

They say it takes a village to raise a child. I have always been lucky because I have wonderful, supportive parents (& in-laws!), who are there for me and my family no matter what.

However, with my first baby, I became quite isolated and never found my "village" of other Mums. So when I found out baby no.2 was on the way - and covid had everything shut down - I sought out a community online, determined not to miss out this time around.

It has been one of the greatest fortunes of my life, that I managed to get swept up in the WhatsApp group created by the brilliant . It took on a life of its own and now we are The Eggs. A group of 30ish women from all over the place, working out this parenting malarkey together.

I made this print to celebrate Lucie for the wonderful person and mother she is.
I think more than anything, we all want to be the Safe Place for our babies to return to when the world is scary or unfamiliar. I watched Felix doing that with Lucie on a trip out one day & thought it was absolutely beautiful.

Happy Mothers' Day to all of you strong, funny, kind, exhausted, overwhelmed and loving people.

The sun is shining, so obviously I had to share this gorgeous, cosy jumper I recently crocheted for a special birthday boy ๐Ÿ˜‚
Such a beautiful pattern by the talented
