What did we learn from our trip to the track with the 991.2…

Firstly… we have concluded that the brakes on the C4S are nowhere near capable enough for consistent track use (our case in particular)

Albeit… the car is equipped with Michelin Cup2 tyres and considerably more power than standard, but even with that in mind, we believe the cracked discs and discoloured callipers would likely have happened stock and has been a problem for others.

Our proposed solution that we will conduct in house is as follows…

▪️Upgrade the front discs from 350-380mm 2 piece bell & rotor.

▪️Upgrade rear discs from 330 - 350mm 2 piece bell & rotor

▪️Custom brackets to retain OEM calliper assembly’s with ARP bolts ARP

▪️EBC Brakes RPX Turbo S pads all round

▪️Remove back plates & install GT3 brake scoops with custom bracket

▪️Upgrade brake lines and run Motul RBF660 fluid

The increase in surface area coupled with cooling and better pads, we believe, in theory, will improve the issues that people seem to have when using the non GT and turbo models on track.

Just a handful of pictures from our track day yesterday at Croft Circuit 💥

It’s always a good day when you get to spend it on track with amazing cars and people!

Armed with a full team, our experienced mechanics, fantastic cars and a handful of our customers, we were all set for a full race style day at Croft.

Our mechanics were on hand to assist with our customers and their vehicles, checking tyre pressures, temperatures and with general maintenance.

Not only was it a fun day for all involved, but it also allowed us to do some crucial R&D on both our GD23 demonstration vehicle and our personal GT4. Testing out some EBC Brakes RPX brakes.

The outcome? An expensive week ahead at Genome…consisting of new EBC brakes… possibly new disks and pads for the C4S and new Michelin Cup Two tyres all round!

These track days are not only a bit of fun and a day out for the team, but it also plays a crucial part in the development process for Genome Design.

Bringing the noise 💥

The products are quickly becoming a favourite with our customers wanting to gain some extra noise from their Porsche.

This 992 Turbo was a perfect example. Coming into the Genome garage with an underwhelming factory sound, this customer wanted to gain some extra noise in the form of an IPE Exhaust system.

This system added that extra oomph that the customer was after, without being over the top.

997 Turbo update…

We have some sick turbos…

If you haven’t already seen the wonderful example of a 997 Turbo we have in for our stage 2 tuning package, here is a little update of what was found when we removed the stock exhaust system.

Checking the Turbos on the 997 at the point of removing the stock catalytic converters is always a first port of call, given our experience with this platform. Under closer investigation, our engineers could see the turbos compressor wheel had been lightly touching the internals of the compressor housing, this is caused by wear in the journal bearings, allowing for radial play. Coupled with the expected corrosion to the cores, it made sense to replace with a set of remanufactured units from our sister company -

It is important to note that a worn or corroded turbo will not always present the owner with smoke or noise, and if caught early enough, it can be repaired which is more cost effective.

GD440 Stage 1 - 718 4.0l GTS still producing solid numbers even with the ever increasing ambient temperatures.

Our 718 4.0l tuning packages are fast becoming one of our most popular software products. We have spent many hours tweaking and fettling this software to ensure safe consistent results without the need to stress the engine and hardware components.

As can be seen on the attached graph of this beautiful 718 Cayman GTS, we have achieved a consistent 400+WHP up from the factory 360WHP. it's almost unheard of to generate a 40whp increase on a NA car with only software changes (please note figures produced are at the wheels add 10% correction for flywheel figures)

Couple this with a mid range torque increase of circa 20Ib and its no surprise the car feels much more alive.

The car now described by the customer as a “F****** Rocket” I think we can chalk that up as a positive result.

GENOME DESIGN PORSCHE’S AND PASTRIES!

After weeks of long hours and endless painting, our first official event at GDHQ is complete and was a great success!

We are absolutely overwhelmed with the amount of incredible feedback we have had after our Porsches and Pastries event with The Independent Porsche Enthusiasts Club (Yorkshire Region).

All of the hard work that the team have put in over the past few weeks was truly worth it, and we are lucky to have such an amazing team of people around us.

- Cayenne Turbo GT -

We have had many models through our doors but this is a first for us here at Genome!

As per the request of the customer, we were tasked to improve the noise and the performance of this Turbo GT.

Thanks to IPE Exhausts, we were able to improve the noise in the form of Sports Cats, which improves the overall sound but also means the vehicle stays MOT compliant.

In terms of improving the performance of this Porsche, it was a first for us having not completed a calibration on one of these beasts before. Already making a standard 630hp, we were hopeful to gain somewhere around 700hp.

After completing the calibration, and after a series of data logging on the road, this GT was sitting comfortably in the region of 740hp and 970nm torque. Which is a substantial increase from a) what we were expecting and b) what this car is already making.

This subtlety beautiful Cayman came to us last week for full Lanoguard Underbody Rust Sealing.

Upon inspection of the vehicle, it was noted by one of our technicians that one front spring was snapped, and the rear’s were severely corroded. The customer was advised, and we were able to replace all springs with Porsche OEM parts.

We were then able to complete the installation of the springs and the Lanoguard - Underbody Rust Protection application, ensuring longevity to the new springs, as well as the underbody of the vehicle.

The Lanoguard seal is a premium automotive corrosion protection solution that aids in preserving the structural integrity and appearance of vehicles, especially in harsh environments.

This means your Porsche is protected against the elements and corrosion, ensuring continuity in the exceptional driving experience of your vehicle.

GD23 back on the ramp once again.

This time we have been preparing our demo car for some hot laps at this weekends Yiannimize event!

After last years trip to the Nürburgring, and our recent trips up the runway at SupercarFest, the disks and pads on our 911 Carrera 4S were beginning to look a little worn.

And thanks to EBC Brakes and their speedy delivery, we were able to get them on in quick succession ready for this weekend.

We will be attending Saturday’s Yiannimize Live event at Croft Circuit, all while raising money for JPC Community Farm, a special and complex needs charity. We are delighted to support such a fantastic cause and cannot wait to be a part of the event with SC:UK - The Sports & Supercar Club

SUPERCAR FEST - THE RUNWAY 24

What an absolutely fantastic experience we have had this weekend with Supercar Fest down at Sywell Aerodrome.

We absolutely loved showing off our beautiful collection, including our new GT4 and debuting our newly designed C4S!

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the weekend run so smoothly, everyone who came and had a chat to us, took pictures and made our first supercar fest such a memorable one.

A massive thank you to our sister company AET Turbos for accompanying us down, and helping us out on stand.

And lastly, a huge thank you to Supercar Fest for having us.

We can’t wait for the next one in July, but now it’s back to work making Porsche’s even fruitier.

We will also have 2 cars in the drivers enclosure, where we will be doing some exhibition runs with our 700hp 991 demo down the runway.

It has been a busy week here at Genome!

The Black Bomber.

Arriving with us in a fairly poor state after a trip elsewhere for work. This 991.2 Turbo has now been recommissioned, giving it a new lease of life.

We were presented with a car with various misfire faults, overheating issues, and a range of parts incorrectly or poorly fitted. Fast forward a number of weeks, and our Porsche engineer, Andy has rectified all the outstanding issues to restore what is known as the black bomber to its former glory.

Work completed on this black beauty included…
- 101 Point Health Check
- Centre Lock Wheel Bolts replacement (these had been previously overtightened to 1200nm)
- New Thermostat & Coolant Refill
- VVL Exhaust Solenoid supply and fit (rectification of missfire)
- Major service inclusive of gapping plugs & upgrade oil to Millers Oils nanotech+
- Borescope, Leakdown, and Compression test
- OEM discs and pads replaced, Fluid flush
- Replace various missing nuts, bolts, and trims
- Datalog completed to ensure tuning calibration is suitable

We are now happy to deliver the car back to its owner in a fully usable and enjoyable condition. (Right alongside his 992 known as the Blue Bullet)
