IMPORTANT INFORMATION

We will soon be sending out booking links so that patients eligible for an autumn flu vaccine can easily book an appointment. We will do daytime, evening and weekend appointments starting from the beginning of October.

Please support your GP surgery by having your flu vaccination at this surgery. Other providers may tell you that you are supporting your surgery by having it done elsewhere - unfortunately this is not the case; this generates extra administration work for us and reduces our funding. Keep taxpayers money in the NHS by having your flu vaccine with us.

📦 WE’RE MOVING 📦

Sherburn Group a practice will close at 12 noon today and open again at 2pm on Monday 3rd June in the building off Beech Grove.

From Monday 3rd June parking will continue to be the Finkle Hill car park with access up the ramp path with some disabled parking spaces available in the Beech Grove car park.

During our closed period if you need us during normal working hours and call the surgery you will be provided with a number for NIMBUS care who are providing emergency cover during the closure.

We are looking forward to welcoming our patients back to our Beech Grove building from 2pm on Monday!

Please note that we will be closed, including the dispensary, from 12 noon on Friday 31st May.

The surgery, including the dispensary, will be closed on Saturday 1st June.

We will reopen at 2pm on Monday 3rd June in the main surgery building on Beech Grove.

Disabled parking will be available by driving to the practice along Beech Grove, all other parking will be in the large car park accessed from Kirkgate.

Please bear this closure in mind, along with the upcoming bank holidays, and order early/allow time if you need to order your prescriptions from the dispensary.

We are excited to welcome you very soon to the main surgery building again and thank you for your patience while work to extend and enhance the building has been completed.

COVID vaccination clinics start at Tadcaster Health Centre on Saturday 27th April. Eligible patients for vaccination in this campaign are those aged 75 or over, residents in care homes for older adults and individuals aged 6m and over who are immunosuppressed. Please contact the Primary Care Network office to book an appointment on 01937 222082 between 9am and 4pm only.

Our website is changing to become more user friendly for our patients. The website address will not change and you can continue to use your NHS app or SystmOnline online services to contact us and request medication.

On the website please click ‘Contact us online” to send us a request for an appointment (this option will be available within working hours) or to send any admin queries or requests including sick notes, test results or repeat prescription ordering.

If calling the surgery if preferable for you please continue to call 01977 682208 to speak to a member of our patient services team.

If you have a medical emergency please attend A&E or call 999 if you require an ambulance.

For medical advice you can call 111 or if you have an acute illness such as cough, urine symptoms, minor injury you can attend the Urgent Treatment Centre at either Selby or Pontefract.
Selby is open 8am-8pm including bank holidays

!! IMPORTANT INFORMATION !!

As of May 2023, following government guidance relating to patient access to GP services we are changing the way that our appointments are booked.

From May 15th we are introducing a clinical triage system that means that all requests for either a same day or routine appointment with a GP will be reviewed by a GP and then appointments allocated appropriately.

You can make a request for an appointment at any time using the ‘ Contact Us Online’ button on our website www.sherburnsurgery.nhs.uk this will take you to a form that will ask you a few questions about the reason for the appointment that will be sent to the triaging doctor to review. Alternatively, you can ring us and our receptionists will ask you the same questions and complete the form for you over the phone or if you walk into the practice the receptionist will assist you in completing the triage form. This ensures all requests for an appointment are treated in the same way and are allocated appropriately based on clinical urgency.

All of the requests will be reviewed by the GP and then you will either be allocated an urgent same day appointment to see the duty doctor; or you will be added to a waiting list for a routine appointment; or you will be contacted to let you know that an appointment has been made for you to see another health care professional such as a pharmacist, mental health practitioner or physiotherapist if this is more appropriate. We will get in touch to let you know the outcome of your appointment request. In some scenarios it may be that you are provided with self-care information or advised to see another NHS service.

Our reception team will be happy to assist with this process and we hope that it will lead to our patients being seen in the most appropriate appointment to deal with the problem that they are experiencing.

Sherburn Group Practice is changing computer systems so that we are in line with the regional hospital’s computer systems, and the rest of the NHS. We will be using (SystmOne) at Sherburn group Practice from Thursday 2nd March 2023.

We have been busy preparing for this for several months and want to make you aware of how the changeover period could affect you.

From Saturday 18th February all online services will stop working until Thursday 2nd March. During this period, you will not be able to request medications online or by using your health app. You will not be able to send us messages via your app or e-mail. We will not be able to send any electronic prescriptions – they will need to be given to you as a paper copy. We have prepared as best we can for this by sending 2 electronic prescriptions out during February so you will have extra to cover this cross over period. All communication from the hospital such as blood test results or information from letters will either be posted to us or telephoned to us if urgent.

Once we go live with our new system you may need to have your online login details re-set before you can access online services. Please check your online account during the week commencing 6th March and let us know if you need a password reset.

Please note that other than the dates below we will be open as normal during this period with routine and urgent appointments available as usual. We will be available to contact over the telephone or by walking in and speaking to our reception team and paper prescriptions will be available.

We will however be closed on Saturday 25th February. We will be open as usual on Monday 27th February.

Please be aware that we will be open from 11.00am on Thursday 2nd March.

We appreciate your patience, as ever, as we navigate this changeover period.
