Children thrive when they have better posture. Their postural presentation during the developmental stages of life, predicts their ability to grow and develop with less pain, have more bodily confidence and to perform better at school.

Children remain seated for approx. 6 hours a day at school. As children experience most changes with their growth and development during school years, proper posture whilst seated is critically important.

Pull the chin back and avoid looking down for long periods of time (when reading, pick up the book to eye level and avoid bending over or resting arms or shoulders on the desk), have both feet placed on the floor.

Did you know that your child's backpack should not exceed 10% of their body weight, When the backpack exceeds this weight, this affects the child's posture and biomechanical development making physical compensations such as the child will naturally lean forward.

Many of my patients bring their kids in for a yearly posture evaluation with posture imaging. Monitoring your childโs posture throughout their development stages allows postural distortion patterns to be identified early and corrected before they become chronic and cause spinal degeneration.

The 700-acre (2.8-square-kilometer) park features a variety of formal gardens, two beautiful lakes, a sports stadium, a Greek-revival home, and a number of greenhouses that simulate various climates from across the globe. So get on board because itโs time to celebrate Love Parks Week!
Adrian had never been to see a Chiropractor before coming to see Jeff! And what a transformation we have seen with him! Adrian comes for his monthly maintenance and is actively doing the postural correction program and can see and feel the results with much better mobility than he has ever had!

Just as a tree needs a strong, healthy trunk to stand tall and allow nutrients to flow to its branches and leaves, ๐ฟ your body needs a healthy spine to ensure proper communication between your brain and the rest of your body.
When the trunk of a tree is damaged or misaligned, it can affect the entire tree, causing branches to weaken and leaves to wither. Similarly, when your spine is misaligned, it can lead to various health issues, such as pain, reduced mobility, and other dysfunctions.

Thereโs no denying that summer festivals are a fantastic way to enjoy music, art, and good company, they can also be physically demanding. ๐๐๐ถ
After all, standing, walking, and dancing for hours can lead to back pain and discomfort - and thatโs before you factor in sleeping on a wafer-thin camping bed.
But youโre in luck, because today I bring you 6 top tips for staying active and pain-free while making the most of your festival experience ๐.
1๏ธโฃ Warm-Up Before You Go: ๐๏ธโโ๏ธ Ok, so nobody wants to be seen doing โdownward dogโ in the car park, but before heading to the festival, do some gentle stretches to prepare your muscles and joints.
Focus on your legs, back, and shoulders, as theyโll be the ones more likely to stiffen up.
2๏ธโฃ. Wear Comfortable Footwear: ๐Obviously, you donโt want to compromise on your fashion too much, but itโs important to choose shoes that provide good arch support and cushioning. Where possible, avoid high heels or flat sandals that lack support - no matter how good they look!!
3๏ธโฃ Pack Light and Smart: ๐Carry only what you need, and use a backpack with padded straps to distribute weight evenly across your shoulders and back.
4๏ธโฃ Take Breaks: ๐ช Take regular breaks to sit down and rest where you can.
And, as a bonus, use these opportunities to do some quick stretches to keep your muscles loose! ๐
5๏ธโฃ Stay Hydrated: ๐งKeep a (big) water bottle with you and drink regularly to stay hydrated. Not only can dehydration exacerbate muscle cramps and fatigue, it can have a massive impact on your spinal health, and cause discomfort all around your body.
6๏ธโฃ Use Good Posture: ๐ช When standing, distribute your weight evenly on both feet, and keep your shoulders back and avoid slouching to prevent back strain.
