Wyke May update
I've been a little quiet for a while so here's where we are with the plot in Wyke, West Yorkshire.
As you'll see in the video we have a some issues to overcome.
Not least the 300mm combined waste/rainwater runoff pipe that is much closer to the centre of the plot than we were led to believe. Input and experiences, ideas to tackle this are welcome...
There's also the cost of the blackened Larch cladding that we intended to use which looks like being prohibative. We're investigating alternatives.
Highways had objected to the planning submission (as they have for every scheme in this area) but the planning officer seems to think this won't actually be a major factor, given that planning has already been granted on this plot for a 5 bed detached. He seems generally happy with what we intend building here so fingers crossed we'll get a good outcome.
There are a lot of issues coming up on this one, things to be resolved.
I'm ok with that. This is where we add value as developers, thinkers, problem solvers.
Great homes will be created on this plot. Homes that a couple of families will love. Some of the profit will be given to good causes, to people less fortunate than some of us.
If i need to resolve some issues in order to make that happen then great, bring it on.

Feb update, purchase completed now. Funny interruption from a neighbour but good to know they're watching the land.
