Ok, this might not change the way we think about the N***s, but its fun to see that you can still find new things on Hi**er in the archives. I found this "Sprechkarte" that shows that Hi**er visited Landsberg prison on February 24, 1925. He visited, for only 5 minutes, fellow N**i Wilhelm Laforce, who was the last Beer Hall Putsch prisoner serving in Landsberg (the reason was that he was on parole, but this was revoked late in 1924 and he had to start his prison term). Hi**er's first visit of Landsberg prison after he had been a prisoner there has not been noticed by historians so far!
ps: Three days later, February 27, Hi**er re-founded the NSDAP, which had been banned after the Putsch. Maybe the visit was linked to the new party foundation?

Dear all,
Anglophone scholars of genocide hardly ever considered that the term (and concept?) of "genocide" existed in most other European languages long before Lemkin. Tonight, I am giving an online talk for the UK Historical Association (6:30 UK time) in the question how the N***s used the term - Völkermord -, which they did surprisingly often, referring to the alleged dooming extermination of the German people by the hands of their Jewish and other enemies.
Please feel free to Zoom in:

2023 Aubrey Newman Lecture by Professor Donald Bloxham is TODAY!
📢Announcing the 2023 Aubrey Newman Lecture📢
This year's Aubrey Newman Lecture will be on 'The Holocaust in a broader history of modern European violence: comparisons, contrasts, contexts,' to be given by Professor Donald Bloxham.
This event will take place on Tuesday, 5th December, 5.30pm GMT in the Attenborough Building, Lecture Room 3, on the University of Leicester Main Campus (in-person only). The event is free and open to all.
Donald Bloxham is the Richard Pares Professor of European History at the University of Edinburgh. This lecture will consider the Holocaust within a history of extreme violence against population groups from the late nineteenth century until the end of the Second World War in Europe and adjoining areas. It illustrates wider patterns of violence within which the Holocaust fits to some degree and then tries to explain those ways in which the Holocaust does not cohere with the wider patterns.
This lecture takes place in honour of Emeritus Professor Aubrey Newman who established the Stanley Burton Centre in 1990 and secured a generous endowment from the Burton Family.
We look forward to seeing many of you there!
