Really excited about this little pot of joy! A customer recently asked if we had any Sour Cream so I was delighted to find this at our brilliant wholesaler. Perfect for adding to recipes or a dollop on your chilli! How would you use it?

Vegan Brioche sandwich anyone?! Today's filling is sweet chilli chikken with cream cheese, salad and cheese slice. Get them before they run out!

Also on the counter today - onion bhajis, veg samosa, soya samosa, mushroom Quiche, classic sos rolls, caramelised onion sos rolls, polenta slice, pain au chocolat, Eccles cakes, apricot slice, date slice, banana and walnut cake, salad bowl, Rocky Road and Cacao energy balls 💚💖 All vegan. Gluten free options always available too. We are in St Martin's Square (old Fox Books shop!)

Feeling really grateful for the wonderful team and our lovely customers who have been enjoying the first two weeks of our shop reopened at the new location. We know that we still have lots to do but we will get there! (Also really grateful for the weekend off, I managed to get away in the van for a night and saw so many sunflowers at !) Our first dog customer at the new shop! Hugo popped in with his human to stock up on some essentials. Did you know that not only are we dog friendly but we also sell a range of plant based dog foods and treats? Tomorrow will be what we are calling a "soft launch" which basically means that it's still pretty much chaos here! BUT we have two pop up stalls outside with free samples - Bear and Bee Sweet Company and veafy - we hope that you love their products because we will be stocking them soon!

We also have FILL refills in store and lots of goodies you won't have seen before (probably!).

Please bare with us whilst we get things running here, we are all still working hard late into the night to have a functional kitchen and a lovely shop!

Remember we are dog friendly, fully accessible and everyone is very welcome.

We also have some goodie bags with fantastic treats to give away!

Hello folks! It's me, Sam! I've gained a few social media followers lately and I'm reopening Currant Affairs at 9 Silver Walk (St Martin's Square) next week - huge thanks to Ruth for handing the baton on! I can't wait to bring you loads of vegan treats, eco friendly and zero waste goods plus refills! Please let me know what you'd really like to see offered in the new shop and I'll try my best! We all hope the new space will open us up to new audiences within Leicester (and beyond!) while also maintaining the products you all know and love, and hopefully, your continued support 🥰

We are still open this week from

Our last day at this site is this Saturday! Please feel free to come and buy us out of everything in stock 😘

We move to the lovely new location in St Martins Square next week, and the new location is aiming to be ready for a soft launch from Tue 6th Aug 2024 👏

The full address of the new site is 9 Silver Walk, St Martins Square, Leicester, LE1 5EW ... it's just around the corner 💛💚💛

Both sites will be closed for next week Sunday July 28th - Mon Aug 5th while things are all a go putting 9a Loseby Lane back in good order and moving the kitchen equipment into its new home, etc 🏡

Are you looking for a NEW CHALLENGE with a small, local, independent employer?

Are you interested in working in a 100% Vegan Kitchen?

We are looking for new Team Members to work at Currant Affairs in its new location.

We are looking for a General Assistant and a Kitchen Supervisor.

The General Assistant will be a flexible role working between the kitchen and the shop with a mix of shift times, roughly 15-34 hours a week.

The Kitchen Supervisor role will be based in the kitchen with a mix of shift times, roughly 20-34 hours a week.

The roles will involve working in all areas of Currant Affairs.

The day could be preparing cakes, sandwiches, and other food products, keeping the kitchen and site clean, or serving customers on the till, helping to put stock away on the shelves and helping to create content for social media, all while serving the customers with a smile :)

We are always happy to provide relevant training; however, previous experience of a similar environment would be ideal.

Understanding vegan principles is bonus.

We are a very busy small kitchen, shop and takeaway with a friendly tightknit team, willingness to be flexible for holiday cover and emergencies is essential.

The days can be long, there is always lots to do!

If you want to join the team, you can expect to work hard and consistently, in return, we aim to provide a safe, secure, and supported environment with fair pay, free meals and staff discount

It's BIG NEWS time ...

Currant Affairs is changing, for the bigger and better. Under the fresh energy and guidance of the lovely Sam of .

Sam has years of experience in our specialist industry and will introduce fun new elements to hopefully help to secure Currant Affairs for the next generations of customers, team members, and the city.

Together, Sam and I have been working hard, over many months, to create the conditions for the future success of Currant Affairs under new leadership.

The time is now 💛

This news gets bigger and potentially more exciting!

As part of this transitional step,
Currant Affairs intends to move to a new location. We are moving to 9 Silver Walk, St Martins Square (Previously Fox Books)

Bigger and better one might say 😘🥰!

We have TWO weeks left at 9a Loseby Lane.

Our last trading day at this lovely little shop will be Sat the 27th of July.

The NEW Currant Affairs is expected to open on Tue 6th of Aug 2024 😀

Mini closed week to move all the things between the locations!

The fantastic team members who wanted to be a part of this transition will be moving along to the new location. They will continue to do what they do, making all the things and serving you with a smile :)

Lucy and Jemma have also taken this as an opportunity for them to step away and move on to adventures new. Please join us in sending them all our best wishes for future adventures 💚

We love the fact that you have continued to support us and our little shop over many years, including before our involvement, and we all hope that you will continue to do so for the future 😊

The place wouldn't be the same without you, and we appreciate each and every one of you more than you know 💚
