A 1st XI containing 4 Westleigh U16s claimed victory today at The Pingot.
The 2nd XI won by default after Hindley St Peters conceded.

Victory keeps the 1st XI at the top of the table with important fixtures to come. With the league coming to a close soon and holidays creeping in, we urge everyone to make themselves available in the coming weeks.

UPDATE 🧱👷🏻‍♂️

Plans have been professionally drawn and submitted for approval. New changing rooms going ahead, alongside our new car park as part of the local Taylor Wimpey development. A productive winter 2024 ahead.

ANOTHER TICKED OFF ✅

A good win for the 1sts today getting revenge on Denton West after defeat early in the season. An old school Westleigh shuffle saw the 2nds fall to defeat after a promising open stand in their chase of 216.

HUGE WIN!

Just the 1st XI in action yesterday and we managed to take the win against top of the table Werneth. We now find ourselves joint top with 8 matches to go this year.

There's action at The Pingot today as a friendly XI take on Standish. The bar is open but please be mindful there is a christening in the club this afternoon too.

A hectic weekend of sport kicked off tonight with the U18s defeating local rivals Leigh CC at The Pingot. This was just the start of a full weekend of it:

UPCOMING PROJECT 🧱

We are currently putting plans together for new, separate changing rooms to be built at the end of the current season. This will therefore help expand our current bar/function facilities.

JONNY TAKES 9 WICKETS!

Opening bowler Jonny Entwistle took the first 9 wickets in yesterday's 1st XI game versus Golborne, helping bowl them out for 93. Only the 2nd time this has happened in the 1st team in the history of the club.
Unfortunately, he was unable to take all 10 wickets before running out of his restricted overs of 15.

In reply, we chased down the score comfortably for the loss of only 2 wickets. Andy (36*) and Rob (36) the main contributors.

The 2nd XI lost away to high flying Winton. Another impressive performance with the ball, Amaranth taking 4 wickets and Reece 3 reduced Winton to 136ao. Our reply never got going and we fell well short.

Brilliant week for the junior section, both teams travelled to WiganCC this week and both the 13’s and 15’s returned with the points.

DOUBLE DELIGHT 😍

Wins for both teams brought a successful end to a very busy weekend. Thanks to everyone who made themselves available this weekend and contributed to the success.

Action continues this week with junior, T20 and senior cricket again!

The first team made it two in a row with victory today. The seconds fall short in a low scoring game at The Pingot - a few action shots from the twos game below.

Both teams in action again tomorrow against Wythenshawe, in rearranged league games from the start of the season. 2nd team in action at The Pingot from 12:30.

1️⃣ A comprehensive victory on the road for the 1sts, as they hammer South West Manchester by 137 runs.

💙 More importantly, a fantastically well-supported fundraiser at the club. Credit to everyone who turned out in support of the Lloyd family and Cancer Research. A real loving and family feel!

🙏 Fundraiser - This Saturday the club will play host to a fundraiser for Natalie & Andy Lloyd and Cancer Research, as Nat begins her treatment against Stage 4 Melanoma. We hope everyone can come down and support two huge parts of our Westleigh family.

🎤 Singer/Guitarist - A Saturday of musical entertainment, as local singer Gary Mac will be at the club. Saturday 1st June, an event not to be missed.

A convincing 7 wicket win for the 1st XI at home but unfortunately a close defeat for the 2nds. Plenty of positives to take from both teams, with juniors contributing heavily in both matches.

Shout out to Travis Mullally who becomes the first person on the honours board this season with his 6 wicket haul!
