Happy Birthday to Jennetts HR Solutions!

This month I am celebrating 4 years of running my own business. There have been countless late nights, stress and times when the pressure has been immense, but there have also been countless good times finding solutions for clients, offering support and building on existing and new relationships, with no 2 days or clients ever being the same, being why I love everything I do.

To mark our birthday month, we are ecstatic to announce we have this week received confirmation we have won an award:

After an amazing 2 weeks holiday, I am now back in the office and looking forward to catching up with my clients over the next week, and also getting in touch with the new enquiries which have come through whilst I have been away - it is always a pleasure to work with new businesses, and what better time to consider what you may need - with the new minimum wage rates already in effect and the beginning of a new fiscal year, April is always a month of change in the realm of employment law. If anyone needed proof that working in HR no 2 days are ever the same!

This week has been full on to say the least, and my amazing clients have certainly kept me busy, but knowing my advice and support has benefited and reassured the businesses I work with has made it all worth while

An overview of my week:
•4 client meetings
•3 interviews for a client resulting in 3 conditional offers being issued
•11 contracts of employment drafted and issued
•onboarding of 4 new starters
•proposals sent to 3 new enquiries
•continued retained support proposal sent to an existing client
•1 new employee handbook drafted
•2 employee handbooks reviewed and updated
•a grievance investigation report and outcome letter finalised
•advice given to a new client on a constructive dismissal claim
•several service agreements and contract for services drafted and sent for clients that have self employed contractors working for them rather than employees

At many points this week my 'To do' list seemed to be growing rather than shrinking, and I have lost track of how many hours I have spent working, but as the week comes to an end, on reflection, I can honestly say the hard work and long hours have been worth it to know my clients are happy and I can now put my out of office on and enjoy the other ‘me’ being a wife and a Mum, I cannot wait to spend some much needed quality time enjoying a long awaited family holiday together!

Are you celebrating Pancake Day at work today?

The Department for Work and Pensions have published the annual rate increases for 2023/2024.

The annual increase to the National Minimum Wage and National Living Wage are as follows:-
23+ - £10.42 (previously £9.50)
21-22 - £10.18 (previously £9.18)
18-20 - £7.49 (previously £6.83)
16-17 - £5.28 (previously £4.81)
apprentices - £5.28 (previously £4.81)

The accommodation offset will be £9.10 per day (previously £8.70).

The rate for Statutory Maternity Pay (SMP), Statutory Paternity Pay (SPP), adoption pay (SAP), shared parental (ShPP) and parental bereavement (SPBP) pay will increase to £172.48 per week (previously £156.66). The rate for Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) will increase to £109.40 per week (previously £99.35).

These changes will take effect in April 2023.
