A piece of sculpture. London Planetree with floating bark set on a Chestnut base. Detachable lighting(which is BT and works from both mains and power pack) allowing placement anywhere. Stands at 1.45m (4ft8in) and designed diagonally to fit into and transform a corner position. A huge Cedar of Lebanon slab from needing work on several splits and laminations. My client loved the live edges but felt they may be uncomfortable to his guests so we kept them and removed them at the same time. This beautiful table is a Nordmann Fir. Left with a bark edge on one side to contrast the lovely clean lines of the opposite side. They say “what was meant for you, won’t go past you” well a few days earlier or later and I wouldn’t have been able to take this commission and hit its deadline. An Ash dining table, bench, 2 side tables and a centre board, leaving not enough offcut to light a fire. Perfect.
