Grief affects all of us at some point in our life. It affects each individual differently & you might find that different bereavements affect you differently. Here’s some useful resources regarding grief & support & also some lovely posts we borrowed from 🤍

There is a myth that you ‘get over’ grief or that you ‘move on.’ This is not the case. You ‘move through’ your grief, as you carry it with you, but you may be affected by a bereavement for your whole life. Often, following a funeral things go ‘back to normal’ but this is the time bereaved people can feel most alone and isolated. There may be triggers that affect them for months & years & those around them should be supportive regarding this🤍

Say their name. Don’t be afraid that you will upset someone by saying the name of the person who has died. Often, this will have the opposite affect on your friend/family as by saying their name you are remembering them & sharing your love for that person. It’s so important to know that you’re keeping the persons memory alive🤍

The bereaved often try to hide their grief from others. Sometimes from their friends and family, so as not to burden them. Sometimes from colleagues… Just because someone is going to work & may look alright, doesn’t mean that they are not still struggling with grief. No matter how much time has passed, please show your support and understanding to anyone you know who is bereaved🤍
