New figures, which we’re releasing during Foster Care Fortnight, show that there’s a shortage of 6,500 foster families across the UK, against a backdrop of record numbers of children entering the care system.
This morning our chief executive Sarah Thomas was interviewed live on BBC Breakfast about the new data and the reasons foster carers are leaving, alongside comedian and foster carer Kiri Pritchard-McLean. 📺
This formed part of a longer segment featuring interviews with foster carers and a care experienced young person, who all shared their experiences of fostering.
