We've recently had a 👀look back at all that we have achieved at @thrive_se16 and we're pretty pleased.🎉 Since April 2019 up to August 2022- • • 216 individual clients have directly benefited from one or more of the services that we provide at Thrive 📈 • 41% (88) are from the SE16 postcode 📮 • 69% (149) are female👩🏾 • 29% (63 are Male 👨🏾 • 72% (157) are from Black & Minority Ethnic groups • 22% (48) are on a type of benefit On top of that, we currently have 21 tenants who collectively employ 8 members of staff- to us this is amazing news 🙌🏾 To date, a total of 429 customers have accessed the services provided by start-up and we have a waiting list of 27!!! As a charity that aim to help people on their career journey these are more than just numbers- they are success stories. February has been a busy old month- heres what we've been up to- *We met with Glows Maker’s Space members – lots of work being done to enable makers to get to local markets and to connect with local business as potential buyers *We held our first workshop with 11 independent business owners in Rye Lane to develop the PBF. *Worked with Bridget Meyne as live illustrator to capture the key messages from the session *Business mentoring sessions have started with the Peckham Business with Sparadise Massage being the first to meet with Tiffany. We have 5 more businesses signed up this week. *Tree Shepherd is working with the Southwark Chambers of Commerce as part of a working group to identify additional support for local businesses. We welcomed Bob and Rose who have joined Tree Shepherd as Business Mentors – they bring specific expertise in finance and environmental sustainability. *Recruiting for the Start Your Own Enterprise Programme - targeting 18–30-year-olds. t's Friday and that means that it's time to introduce another amazing member of our Tree Shepherd family. Meet Kes, the founder of Heart in Art Workshops Kes grew up in South London and has always felt creative, after leaving art college, travelling and starting a family she realised that she never really had the time to be artistic. Heart in art workshops started in 2013 when Kes decided to use her understanding of dyslexia and how that impacted on her life. She wanted to start a business where everyone could experience all the positivity that art can bring to ones life. In this business, Kes provides Arty workshops for schools, after-school clubs, festivals, parties and many more events all over London. Most of her Mosaics are produced at home in her studio, but sometimes you will find her creating and making her mosaics at #Glows. We have certainly hit the ground running in 2022. Here's a look into all that we've achieved as well as some of our future projects. Phew, we're exhausted already! 1. Outreach to Peckham Rye Lane- we visited over 71 businesses. We also had some excellent planning meetings with key partners including @mountviewldn 2. We met with, Andre one of the most proactive entrepreneurs who found us in the middle of our visits to Peckham from our Instagram post (sharing on socials works people!) 3. we had 6 new clients decide to work on their businesses from our workspaces #Glows and #Thrive 4. In December we delivered the Thrive Christmas Market – an amazing total of 446 visitors attended the event. A huge shout-out to all the vendors and visitors for making it such a success! We also need to say a massive thank you to the Surrey Quays Shopping Centre Team who promoted the market and allowed 5 of our traders to be located in the shopping centre. 5. 14(93%) of traders participating in the market event were female. Of this 11 (73%) were from black-led owned small independent businesses. 6. We have established a partnership with Queen Mary University to deliver workshops and legal advice clinic for our clients. 7. We are participating in the Nat West Research project about business use of cash – we already have 3 of our clients joining us in the discussion 8. We are in the process of getting feedback from our clients on our business mentoring service 9.
