We are looking for a Dynamic, Self-motivated podiatry assistant to work in the clinic within London area. You will have a wide range of health care experience and knowledge of a qualified health care professional such as Doctor or Pharmacist and Nurse with a firm foundation of medical knowledge and many years of experience. Also, be interested in foot health with a desire to learn and develop in foot health career.
As podiatry assistant, you will have theory and practical training under the supervision of HCPC registered podiatrists to gain their qualification. Complete at least 500 clinical hours within the clinics before taking exams, alternatively be trained as a foot health practitioner and must pass theory and practical assessments.
Your role will involve, assisting podiatrist and other staff in daily activities of the organisation, setting up clinic, patient's foot assessment and delivery quality foot care. This includes general foot care, nail cutting and reduction, removal of light callus (hard skin) and assessment and promotion of foot health under podiatrist supervision.
Location: you will be willing to work in different settings including community clinics and domiciliary settings. You will be an integral member of the team and have opportunities to treat patients a variety of podiatry clinics, care homes and nursing homes.
All staff are regularly supported and encouraged to take part in service transformation, various CPD activities and extra study for further self-development.
So, what do you need to join our team?
• You will need to be able to adapt to a fast-moving service, work autonomously, and possess the clinical skills and ability to work independently and as part of a large multi-disciplinary team
• Candidates should have excellent communication skills, comprehensive clinical assessment skills and the ability to provide care as determined by clinical assessments.
• To have strong relationship building skills to work positively in your nursing team, multidisciplinary teams and with patients.
• Our service offers an educationally focused environment which will allow you to professionally grow and develop a repertoire of clinical skills and theoretical knowledge through work-based education
