My career started in a recruitment agency and I wanted to be more involved in the post-hire journey as well as the wider people journey, so when I saw the opportunity at ECS to be more involved in people operations, I knew it was a great move for me!

🎤 What’s the most rewarding aspect of your work?

Being able to see the direct impact of the work I do, for example, last October I was involved in running a benefits review and by January we had rolled out Vitality Healthcare to all our employees - watch this space for this years review!

🎤 What’s the best piece of advice you’ve been given?

Don't do anything that doesn't bring you joy, life's too short and there's no point.

🎤 What other role within the company would you be most interested in trying out for a day, and why?

I'd be super interested in being the CFO for a day, I'd love to have a deeper understanding of our finances, where the money goes and why.

🎤 Where can we find you on a Saturday night?

Saturdays for me are super varied but I'll always be spending some quality time with my partner, whether we're at the driving range, out for dinner or just watching tv!

It has been a crazy one and I have loved every second! It’s been three years since I began the journey and almost one year since being at ECS. Meeting new people, discovering new businesses, finding solutions to problems and most importantly, working with great driven teams is something I could never give up!

💚 What’s the most rewarding aspect of your work?

This is a tricky one! I’d have to say knowing how much each switch to an EV is helping our environment! Being able to help employees across the UK make that very important switch at an affordable rate is very fulfilling.

💚 What’s the best piece of advice you’ve been given?

Knowledge is the most valuable currency- never stop wanting to know more!

💚 What other role within the company would you be most interested in trying out for a day, and why?

On a Saturday night you can find me at home trying out new recipes to cook, reading a book or binge watching shows on Netflix!

🎉 Once a year, we treat the entire Electric Car Scheme team to an incredible weekend in Cambridge! It's filled with workshops, team bonding activities, delicious meals, and exciting social events – this time, we even conquered an outdoor assault course together! 💪

This offsite is an amazing opportunity for us to take a break from our usual routines and reflect on the amazing achievements we've made so far. We also set our sights on the bright future ahead, full of possibilities. 🌟 But it's not all about work; it's also a chance to connect, build trust, and encourage collaboration among colleagues across the business.

Today, August 1, 2023, marks a special day - Electric Car Day! 🎉🔌🚗

A recent study conducted by The Electric Car Scheme working together with Edmund King at the AA, has revealed an incredible milestone for electric vehicle (EV) drivers. As of today, August 1, the average petrol driver has already spent more on fuel than the average EV driver will for the entire year!

Here are the key highlights from the study:

💰 The average petrol driver will spend a whopping £1,268 on fuel this year. In contrast, an EV driver will only spend £740 for their power consumption throughout the whole year. That's a remarkable saving of over £500 for EV drivers!

🍃 Going electric not only saves money but also helps our planet. The study shows that the average petrol driver will release a staggering two tonnes of harmful emissions into the atmosphere this year. On the other hand, an EV driver's power consumption will only contribute 367 kg of emissions.

⏳ Interestingly, this milestone would have been hit on July 7 last year as petrol prices were even higher, meaning almost half of the year’s fuel costs could have been saved.
