*MEET THE FOUNDER*

Hi I am Bethany, the founder of The Black Travellers Collective. Anyone that knows me knows I love to travel the world. Travelling has always been my favourite thing to do. However, although travelling has always been ‘a bit of fun’ for me, over the last few years it’s become more than just ‘fun’, it has become a form of healing. I lost my mum and Grandma in the space of 3 months in 2021 and since then travelling has been the only thing that makes me feel alive again. It’s been a wonderful way to feel some peace and feel like me again (even if it is just for a moment). Recently I travelled to Zanzibar solo because I was having a very difficult season. This trip was so special in so many ways, it gave me the peace I needed and head space to think about launching my own business. It is very important for me to contribute to my community in a positive way so I knew I wanted to do something that aligns with my purpose and has a positive impact on my people. So here we are starting The Black Travellers Collective!
The aim is to create a space where Black people can be connected to themselves through travel. I would like the Black Travellers Collective to focus on the wellness of Black people. It will act as a Black travel company that hosts group trips centred around creating a space for Black people to be the best versions of themselves.

I want people to feel refreshed, I want people to have a chance to pause and reflect on life and build goals for the future. I want people to feel connected to themselves, and feel as though they are ready to conquer whatever life throws at them in spite of any difficulties that they face.

1. It's a brand that focuses on emotional, physical, social, spiritual and intellectual wellness.
2. BTC was created because we think it is important that Black people have safe spaces to nature and focus on their wellness.
3. We are the biggest advocates for 'book that flight' and we want to encourage people to do the same. Every country our founder has visited has introduced her to a new part of herself. We strongly believe that ‘travelling’ can help heal the soul!
