Sadiku, it connects two different islands - Victoria Island and Ikoyi, and is not connected to the Mainland at all. The bridge is called Falomo Bridge.
Somadina, no, that is not the case - you can not use “mgbada” for lion or hyena for instance, or grass cutter.
In Igbo, the term “anu ofia” is used for all wild animals, literally translating to “animal of the bush”.
Mgbada and Ene refers to antelope.
… but something you may find interesting is that; in Igbo land and anywhere else in Nigeria, our ancestors never encountered deer, and so have no term translating to deer. This is because, deer are absent from sub-Saharan Africa. All deer like species in sub-Saharan Africa are antelope, and this is what our people are historically familiar with and hence have a name for.🙏🏾

My oldest surviving business Patrick Egwu Transportation was 10 years old last week…. A whole decade in business in a very challenging and rapidly evolving industry that is overly saturated is not for the faint-hearted…. Building from the ground up is tough, especially when you have numerous entities competing within an overly crowded market…. Despite the numerous challenges though, we have continued to wax strong and post some very strong sales…. With , we have built a name and many thousand followers, but our dream in the next decade or two is to build a household brand…

A photograph that is close to my heart - a family treasure! Can you spot my 6 year old self in the photo, held by grandmother, and my mom holding my brother on her laps, and my dad on the far left, my Uncle Dominic “Dom” in front, and my two step grandmoms. I can’t believe three of the individuals in the image have long left us - people that I loved so much, especially my dad and my grandmother - I miss them so much, even after 20 years since they left. This is the people that we come from, and the photo was taken at my grandparents bungalow in , , . We were mourning my grandfather - John Egwu Ogbonnaya, when we took the photo.
Patrick Egwu “The Transporter”…. I stay busy building a legacy through and in some time to come .
When you put in the work, and you spend serious money on your business, others start to recognise you, even if they bury their heads in the sand and won’t admit it…. My merc don’t got no dipstick for checking the engine oil level. Your car does? I first noticed this last year.
I renewed my passport last week after it expired a few months ago as I get ready for my upcoming trips…. The British passport authorities are calling the new passports ‘blue’, but to my eyes (and I ain’t colour blind), this looks black! I guess it’s a very dark navy blue…haha! Your thoughts on the color of the new British passports?
Throwback photo of a burgeoning transport mogul…
I can’t believe we are facing fuel shortages in almighty of all places. We are in a very serious situation, and I am well; grateful that I found a place this very early morning to fill up the tank in one of my vehicles tonight - at least I can manage this car’s full tank for two days.
I stay humble and read as great people with vision recognise what I’ve built and still building. Thanks for the great words, brother!🙏🏾
My new kicks from a couple weeks back, still in the box looking fresh as day one, because I’ve been so busy with , I haven’t even had a chance to wear them.
Some years ago, I lost some of my educational certificates including my undergraduate degree certificate. About a month ago, I called my old university asking for the certificate to be reissued, and paid relevant fees. Today I got home after a long day, and find a reissued certificate with a spelling error in one of my names.😲😢. It’s not acceptable!
Sometime last week, I was quite pleased that the wildlife focused organisation which I founded last year - West African Conservation Network - WACN had finally successfully secured its certificate of incorporation in .
Nigeria is our flagship country and will be home to our flagship project.
I am very excited as we begin to strategise on how to go about working on-the-ground in wildlife conservation in Nigeria, and supporting Nigeria National Park Service.
I am particularly keen on assisting Nigeria’s remaining large carnivores -
