Originally called Hamlet Within, the film is a radical cinematic investigation of the myth of Hamlet, its origins, and its universal appeal across cultures and belief systems. Don has played some of the great classical roles. No fear for Don Mouseau… from Sophocles’s Tireseus… Hesiod’s ‘Prometheus’… Shakespeare’s Richard 11.
….
And not only classics. Contemporary characters like the great Texan land baron and the fearful Trumpian economist Professor Sophistication

There are those who say Don couldn’t remember his lines…
But we say Shakespeare himself would have celebrated Don’s replacement lines in his plays.
Some say that Don wasn’t really an actor but an imposter in an actors garb…
But we say there has never been a more human, self effacing and evocative improvisor and actor like Don.
Some say he didn’t dress correctly for the part. (Like when he appeared naked as Prometheus tied to a rock).
But we say Don’s designs were poignant, purposeful and always a compelling signifier.

So next time you open a bottle colleagues raise a glass for our special Don.

Don Mouseau died on 10th January.

We who collaborated with him will remember him fondly and will miss his truly unique presence and wonderful talent.
