According to new analysis, around 16,000 pensioners in the Chelmsford constituency are set to lose their winter fuel allowance under Labour plans. Yes, some of them may be well enough off not to really notice, but I knocked on many thousands of doors in Chelmsford and I know many pensioners will find this will a large hole in their finances this winter.
Estimates of Winter Fuel Payment losses for old and new constituencies The numbers the government doesn't want to publish
Glorious afternoon for watching cricket - did you know it’s half price to watch the 50 over games after the break between innings at Essex County Cricket Club?
I am concerned about the plans for a new Army and Navy junction in Chelmsford as Labour have cancelled a number of roads projects across the country.
I worked hard to deliver the funding promise for a new junction. The financial analysis for this project showed that it would deliver a significant economic boost locally as well as reducing congestion. It is not clear to me whether Labour will keep the plans for a new junction, even though their candidate in last months election said they would.
Cancelling infrastructure projects which boost economic growth is very short sighted and won’t help the UK in the medium or longer term.

Spotted a street sweeper taking a moment to video morris dancers practicing outside a pub as I walked through London this evening.
So many reasons to love our country…
Thank you to the Chelmsford Beekeepers for making today a day to remember. 🐝 🐝🐝

Thank you folks- it’s been the honour and privilege of my life to represent Chelmsford. It’s stuffed full of wonderful people. I’m off for a big sleep and looking forward to watching more cricket.
A beautiful sunset tonight over Chelmsford. Thank you to everyone who has voted today.
Off to say a few final thank yous to some of those working at the polling stations. They will have been there from 8am right up to 10 pm tonight. There’s still time to vote if you haven’t made it yet but THANK YOU TO YOU ALL who have voted (whatever way you chose to put your x ).
Still 2 1/2 hours left to vote, still knocking on doors. I really do love being a voice for Chelmsford and would love to keep fighting our corner. Do vote 🗳️
Still knocking on doors to remind people to vote - and enjoying some lovely gardens in the sunshine. If you want low taxes and an MP whose always been determined to work hard and deliver for Chelmsford then please do Vote for Vicky - don’t leave it to others!
Going to pick up a sneaky 🍦 before starting next knock…. 😀
Thank you to everyone who has taken time to vote today. I always work hard for Chelmsford - and remember ===> if you want low taxes you have to vote for it
Someone just sent me this 😂
Thank you so so much to everyone who has been helping volunteer in this election. Off for the last afternoon of door knocking now. Remember if you want low taxes, you have to vote for it!
In other news. Really good luck to my awesome big sister, Lucy, for her book launch today # # #
Our new massive GP centre is nearly finished and will take pressure off GPs all across Chelmsford. I love fighting for better infrastructure in Chelmsford and getting it delivered - if you want me to continue fighting for Chemsford, then I do need you to Vote for Vicky today. Thank you!
Just stopping by some of the polling stations to thank all those working on the election today. Democracy matters. If you want someone who delivers better infrastructure in Chelmsford then please vote for Vicky today.
Morning delivery round completed. REMEMBER ==>>> If you want low taxes you have to vote for them.
Happy polling day - and happy Independence Day to our American friends!
Thank you to everyone who came on the Facebook live - a first for me! Someone asked about the Puffins in my home & I didn’t get to answer.
I have a thing for Puffins.
After my dad died when I was a child things were very, very low.
My mum and dad loved wildlife and being outdoors and I remember a bird loving neighbour picking me and mum up early one morning a few months later to take us on a day out. It was the first time we had been “out”.
We lived in Northern Ireland and he took us to an island about an hours boat ride off the north coast. It’s where I saw my first Puffin. I will never forget that day. The first rays of rebuilding our lives began. It’s impossible to be sad when Puffins are about. This one came from the gallery and picture framing shop in Moulsham Street.
Looking forward to doing Facebook Live at 7pm. It will be a first for me! Do join in.😀
Still out ringing the door bells in Chelmsford - ‘cos Chelmsford matters, every vote matters and I want to keep fighting for Chelmsford ….
Getting ready to go out and knock on more doors!
Every part of me is so disgusted by this. No words.

Love it when an old friend drops by to see what is (undoubtedly) the best election battle bus in the country. 🚙
I have spoken with thousands of people all across Chelmsford over the past few weeks. Thank you to everyone who has chatted and to the very many people who have already promised to vote for Vicky.
I think Chelmsford matters and Chelmsford is worth fighting for – that’s why I am fighting for every vote.
It’s definitely a three-way battle here between me, Labour and Lib Dems – please don’t believe the Lib Dem charts that they keep stuffing through your door, in general elections Labour usually come second in Chelmsford.
I want to stand up for Chelmsford, to keep delivering the infrastructure Chelmsford needs, more police on our streets, improve our NHS and support our schools. I am proud that we have record levels of jobs and businesses in Chelmsford.
I will stand up to Starmer. I’ll fight for low taxes, a proper plan for immigration and support for families, pensioners and the armed forces.
I’ve seen how Lib-Dem MPs always vote with Labour. You can’t trust Lib-Dems to stand up to Starmer.
I know some people still have questions that they want to ask before they vote – and we had very few hustings events in Chelmsford.
I’m ready to hear any questions and answer as many as possible so I’ve set up a Facebook live event for 7-7.30pm tomorrow evening (Wednesday). Do join me online tomorrow evening.
Chelmsford matters, it’s worth fighting for and a spot of rain won’t put me off fighting for every vote this Thursday. 😀
A lovely letter was hand delivered to the office this morning - thank you for taking the time to write to me xx
Can you spot the dog? Here are this week’s flowers from all over Chelmsford.
If re-elected I promise to keep talking about all the good things in Chelmsford…. as well as getting our new station open and delivering that Army&Navy!
Sunday morning, the very edge of the Chelmsford constituency. I don’t want Labour to build all over our geeen fields with no local say.
