Forthcoming change to the law will extend fit note certification to physios 13/06/2022

What a great day for the physiotherapy profession and Back in Action UK

A change in legislation announced today by the DWP means that from July 1st, 2022, physiotherapists (together with nurses, occupational therapists, & pharmacists) will all be able to legally certify fit notes.

This means less demand on GP services, with physiotherapists being best placed to make accurate work recommendations to either keep people safely at work and/or ensure a swift return to work.
