Currently, there is a defined segmentation in the Caribbean food market with a sector catering for the indigenous populace and the other for the local ethnic community having native tastes and premium standards. Kingstonian Caterers & Food Manufacturers Ltd is targeting a wider and larger niche market, which goes well beyond the local ethnic community to cater for a growing discernible clientele that prefers to savour the ‘original’ tastes and flavours of an ethnic food as originally intended. As an accomplished self trained Chef, my vision is to produce authentic traditional Caribbean food using some old Jamaican recipes which I have updated and re-developed; these recipes have been carried over and celebrated through generations. My focus is on; producing, preserving and promoting the original Caribbean character in the cuisine using traditional recipes and methods of preparation. The sum of the ingredients used are also Caribbean sourced to capture the authentic essence of the menus and to produce this I have links with major Caribbean food suppliers in London and with sources in my native Jamaica. Kingstonian’s plan is to supply Gourmet Caribbean food to; Food Halls, Specialist food markets, operate Concession stands and Food service: Football stadiums hospitality boxes, Private Clubs etc and to do event and corporate catering in London. This will be done in the order of priorities described in the Business Plan. For the long term, it plans to establish a Take-away chain, Middle and High-end restaurants, market and distribute chill and frozen packaged premium Caribbean food to supermarkets and independent stores throughout Great Britain, Ireland and Europe. Kingstonian has been working with some major food providers to enhance Jamaica cuisine and take it to the next level
