New Season Announced
🚨 NEW SEASON 🚨 Five new productions just announced – here’s what’s coming up 👇 🗓️ December Following her Olivier Award-winning productions of A Streetcar Named Desire and Summer and Smoke, Almeida Associate Director Rebecca Frecknall directs Tennessee Williams’ Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. Full cast includes Kingsley Ben-Adir, Guy Burgess, Clare Burt, Seb Carrington, Daisy Edgar-Jones, Derek Hagen, Lennie James, Ukweli Roach and Ria Zmitrowicz. 🗓️ February Jo and Harry are changing. Harry is changing more than most, undeniably, And change is beautiful. Necessary. Terrifying. The world premiere of Otherland by Chris Bush (Standing at the Sky’s Edge), directed by Ann Yee (Next to Normal). 🗓️ March Following his ★★★★★ production of The Chairs, Omar Elerian translates and directs Rhinoceros – Eugène Ionesco’s absurdist satire about holding onto what’s left of our humanity as we resist the rumbling power of the herd. 🗓️ May The 2024 Susan Smith Blackburn Prize-winning play 1536 by Genesis Foundation Almeida New Playwright Ava Pickett, directed by Lyndsey Turner (Chimerica). 1536 looks at the friendship between three women, set against the backdrop of Anne Boleyn’s trial and execution. 🗓️ June Golden Globe-winner Ruth Wilson and Academy Award-nominated Michael Shannon feature in Rebecca Frecknall’s new production of Eugene O’Neill’s American classic, A Moon for the Misbegotten. 🎟️ Tickets for Cat on a Hot Tin Roof go on sale: Patrons, Gold & Friends Plus Members ⏰ Monday 23 Sep 12pm Almeida Friends ⏰ Wed 25 Sep 12pm General Public ⏰ Fri 27 Sep 12pm 🤝 Become a member now and access priority booking >> almeida.co.uk/membership

This time 7 years ago, James Graham’s Ink directed by Rupert Goold had its world premiere on our stage before transferring to the West End and then Broadway 👏 The story about the rise of The Sun newspaper was James Graham’s Almeida debut and went on to win many awards including an Olivier and a Tony 🏆 Here’s a look back at the production with Bertie Carvel and Richard Coyle as Rupert Murdoch and Larry Lamb 👇
